IIRC the 1e spell affects lower level HD first. So maybe that means if there are 4 kobolds in a groups of baddies, and you roll a 5, then you can maybe get one orc who is also in the group? I’ve seen something similar done with excel too. Interesting stuff. So many different ways! I like the oldish school method of the players mapping, but also don’t want to fuss more than a minute or two on mapping as they enter each room.

Always intrigued by how folks do mapping for their games. In person it’s easy to look over a players shoulder.
