Re: The Success of Basic Fantasy and S&W

I mean, seriously, I've already encountered folks in OSR blog and G+ circles no less, who already are unaware/confused about S&W:WB and WB alone. Remember that there are still folks (OSR folks included) who are already/still confused about the three long-extant iterations of S&W. I know I'm soon bea...

Re: The Success of Basic Fantasy and S&W

On the other hand (to play my own devil's advocate): I'm a huge T&T geek. The classic Fifth Edition rules are super easy, but the rule book is super long-winded (though enjoyable atmospheric and goes a long way to communicating the vibe of the game). The UK Corgi versions of the solos (two-in-one, i...

Re: The Success of Basic Fantasy and S&W

Perhaps my memory is incorrect, but I'm pretty sure that at least the first edition of S&W:WB was available when the S&W quick start was released. Actually, I long wondered why this wasn't continually pushed/championed. I can only imagine that when chogwiz (or whatever that fellow's name is) soon af...

Re: White Box Rules Update/Re-design

I agree. Those prices for the paperbacks are very reasonable.

There will be hardbacks as well though, yes?

Re: White Box Rules Update/Re-design

Regarding price: I'm kinda hoping he takes the Basic Fantasy route and goes only for a bit over cost, but I suppose that's a bit selfish, never mind the fact that this is solidly yeoman work and he does deserve a fair bit for it. I'd at least hope it's competitive to the S&W:WB price(s). We'll see. ...

Re: White Box Rules Update/Re-design

This is all pretty darn exciting. Is it still "a thing" that James West is going to design a flavorful WB char sheet for the game? I sure hope so. His char sheets are the greatest. You should seriously consider forcing him into a bit more labor for your "Into the Unknown". Speaking of the setting gu...

Re: White Box Rules Update/Re-design

I do love the art of the first, but I think the second makes a much, much better cover for White Box.

Re: White Box Rules Update/Re-design

I've said as much on Google+, but this is exactly what WB needed and deserved and for years! Thank you for shouldering this and having both the courage and the know-how to do so and...man...doing it well . I spent the whole of the summer of 2010 proof-reading and taking tons of notes and whatnot to ...
