Re: What Should Come Next for White Box?
So I'm curious why do you think things should go in the zine? I think a setting book is a harder sell to WB/DD fans as they are more likely to homebrew setting material. Also, if the setting material in the zine proves popular (you poll after each issue) then you can pull it together into a book. S...

Re: What Should Come Next for White Box?
I coulda sworn someone commented in this thread about focusing on Wizard's Scroll but now I don't see it. That was me, I couldn't decide. I do think a mini Hexcrawl Sandbox with a village map, hills, woods and a small dungeon (12 rooms and an exit to a lower level) would be of most use - but I don'...

Re: White Box Rules Update/Re-design
As WB is going to use the same title (with the compatibility logo), as of now what changes are being made ?

Re: S&W White Box History?
I would like to know what leaving it to the fans means? Was that discussed at all back then? The ability to remix and republish, rather than just supporting though supplements and adventures, if I remember correctly. Matt actually posted a thread a while later asking 'well, what have you done with ...

Re: S&W White Box History?
It's a pity the old forum is down. The 'Lets Resurrect Whitebox' thread by John Adams on the old forum seemed an important call to arms at the time. Eric Norred kept plugging away to get WB supported/improved long after most of the initial S&W fans had migrated to Labyrinth Lord (seen as a more stab...

Re: White Box Rules Update/Re-design
Thanks Eric, but I'm the first to admit I'm not very prolific, mostly due to limited time to spend on the computer. The release of WB:FMAG started me writing WB stuff again so I'm very keen to see Charlie's reboot.Mach Front wrote: I'd like to recommend Sean Wills

Re: The Success of Basic Fantasy and S&W
I think the quickstart can be shortened a few pages with the pregens, including equipment or without, in the latter case letting players choose an equipment pack. One of the things I like about the old quickstart was the adventure sidebars for the ref, giving tips on how to play through some of the...

Re: Long-standing criticism and embarrasment.
The old S&W forum hosts (hosted - it seems to be down at the mo?) my abysmal Whitebox Mystic class, which proved awful in play. A good reminder to me of how fiddly rules bite back and my own hubris.

Re: The Success of Basic Fantasy and S&W
I tried out the Quick start with my kids upon it's release. I like its tone. One thing I'd recommend changing is those long lists of equipment and weapons - such a timesink. Maybe have 'packs' instead to choose from or roll for ?
