Novice Ref looking to run a WB:FMAG

Post by Valdus »

I thought I would make my previous IC more visible...

Interest Check: A simple good ol' fashioned dungeon crawl. Thin plot, maximum carnage. The usual 'kill things and take their stuff' kind of fun. If things start to progress, we may move on to bigger things.

I am thinking of using Rolz:the_dungeon_book or an amazing smartphone roller "Dice Ex Machina" (I trust apps are allowed, but I will make the rolls available if necessary). I will roll for all, if things still get bogged down, I will move casually to off the cuff GMing like a boss. Yes, I am old, a full-time tired Daddy

Regardless, I will begin by using the honor code. All characters can be rolled on smoldering wizard's rather amazing character generator- present it with honor. But isn't it fun to play a weak character?

Let me know if anyone is interested and we will get the Lost Temple ball rolling.

Behold I just clicked on the above generator and got this dwarves fighter, feel free to pick up:

Change the name, he looks like a Timothy

Also, “Once the player decides on a class, points from other attributes may be shifted around (on a 2 for 1 basis), but only into the “Prime Attribute” of that character class. Shifting points around may not lower another ability score below 9, however.”

Adjust as needed.

I'll change the name and leave him as-is. I'm not a fan of point swap, he's strong enough, that's good for a fighter so he should do smashingly. All you need to do is ask Merias to set up a forum page for your game and you'll be ready to go! Or I should say WE'LL be ready to go....

I like your gusto but let’s see if we have any more. Advice and tales of game bravado are welcome.

What dice roller do you use?

I just roll manually. I have used the unseen servant roller before, it’s pretty good, and for the life of me I can’t remember the other one. I always feel sad having so many dice and never using them so that’s why I roll manually.

I used to love doing points swaps and building “balanced” characters, but I like playing more down to earth or flawed characters now. Back in my middle school/high school years my characters always had high STR, DEX and CON (and INT or WIS depending on class) so I’m quite enjoying characters where it isn’t a given that they’ll Automatically pass a skill check.

Hmmm that point me to a zero type level adventure. Working peasants that suddenly discover a threat to their village or something.

I thought I was going to use Rolz.org but someone on here uses a smartphone app and I have a great one- so.

Here I am! Not too shabby, but I will be ditching the plate for leather and swapping out the spear for a short bow (with DM approval).

Thanks for the kind words on the generator! Btw, that is the first time someone has called the site 'smothering wizard'    (I have seen the British spelling 'Smouldering' a few times).

When you are ready for me to create you a forum for the game, shoot me a PM or reply here with the board title and sub-title.
