"Indeed!", says Balthar as he removes a torch from his small pack.
Re: Chapter 7 -- In Search of a Book Seller
Balthar strikes flint against steel and a spark catches the torch afire. The adventurers move slowly down the stairway. They descend perhaps fifteen feet below the ground and see a square room, damp with moisture and moldy in areas.
The passage to the west and to the east are both dark and quiet.
Actions?

Balthar too, sword drawn and torch raised.
Re: Chapter 7 -- In Search of a Book Seller
As you move into the hallway you see a north/south passage. A glowing light comes from a doorway to the south. The north is dark.

Milton thumbs south.
Re: Chapter 7 -- In Search of a Book Seller
The door is ajar and the orange glow of lamp light comes from it. It appears that a figure is looking through the opening. As you approach, the figure moves back into the room.

"It appears he has seen us," Tarmo says to his companions. Then, louder "Show yourself! Who might you be and why should we spare you? Your friends above are all dead!"
