Chapter 4 Rescue Mission to Harkbone
Re: Chapter 4 Rescue Mission to Harkbone
Milton and Alexander move carefully and quietly towards the manor house. The main entrance is guarded by two sentries. Both sitting near the doorway on benches, heads down, weapons laying on the ground. The appear to be catching some sleep.
Re: Chapter 4 Rescue Mission to Harkbone
Alexander whispers to Milton: "Do you think we can take them out quietly..?"
Re: Chapter 4 Rescue Mission to Harkbone
Milton pulls his dagger and nods. He will sneak up on the guards and make their naps permanent.
Re: Chapter 4 Rescue Mission to Harkbone
Alexander takes care of the other guard, signalling Milton to make sure both at the same time put a hand over the guard's mouth and swiftly slit his throat.
Re: Chapter 4 Rescue Mission to Harkbone
The heavy snores of the sentries help to mask the stealthy footfalls of MIlton and Alexander.
The rana, Milton dispatches his target quickly and quietly. The sentry slumps down to the ground with a gurgling sound of his last breath.
Alexander, slips upon the second target and catches him just as he awakens. The young knight holds him still and stabs him in the neck. Another guard falls to the ground, but with a little more struggle.
A heavy oaken doorway sits shut in front of you. The windows of the stone manor are little more than arrow slits.

Re: Chapter 4 Rescue Mission to Harkbone
Milton checks the door, searching for traps, sure, but mainly an alarm and/or a lock.
Re: Chapter 4 Rescue Mission to Harkbone
Alexander tries to peak through one of the window slits: is there anything to be seen through it?
Re: Chapter 4 Rescue Mission to Harkbone
The arrow slits are covered with cloth...most likely tapestries. In the distance, you can see several peasants still toiling in the field. They have not given any indication that they have noticed you.
The heavy oaken door is iron bound and secure. No lock on the door, but surely a stout wooden bar across it on the inside.
Several of the chimneys in the manor are producing thin wisps of wood smoke.

Re: Chapter 4 Rescue Mission to Harkbone
Alexander proposes: "Let's walk around the manor, maybe there is another entrance."
