Milton pads behind Alexander

As Alexander and Milton enter the kitchen, they hear the sound of men leaving the manor house. Looking through the door crack, Milton spies four armed men.

a fur clad brutish human carrying a wicked shortbow. He is shaved bald with a long greasey black mustache

two stocky humans, look like twins, tattooed faces, murderous looks on their faces. They are unarmored, but carry shields and heavy iron banded clubs

a black clad figure in leather who moves gracefully, yet squints in the sunlight. He is a human, and seems hungover. He carries a dagger in each hand.

"Spread out!" the black clad fellow barks to the others.

What do you do?

Milton fires his bow at the other bowcarrier.

If the arrow fired by Milton reveals their hiding place, Alexander will storm out and attack the nearest foe and try to overpower him. If their cover is not blown, he will pull Milton back: "It's just the two of us against the four of them, I don't like those odds!"

Milton draws back his short bow and lets an arrow fly!

The arrow grazes the archer's side [2 points of damage]

The second arrow flies wide missing his target.

Alexander moves out into the yard to face the enemy.

[Initiative...PCs=3, Foes=2]

Alexander is nearest the two shield and club men.

Milton reloads his bow.

Milton and Alexander, what do you do?

Fire away, does Milton!

Alexander unsheathes his bastard sword and attacks the shield and club men!

Milton lets Alexander move through the doorway and then fires an arrow....MISS!...it flies wide of the archer.

His second arrow strikes the target true...the arrow hits the archer in his chest...but the archer's furs protect him! [ 1 point of damage]

Alexander charges the first of the shield men...he slashes but meets the shield...[ 8 = miss!]

The men sneer at Alexander and raise their clubs, charging Alexander.

They look like a pair of murderous twins. The first swings a vicious blow at Alexander's head. The young knight raises his shield and blocks the blow.

The second man catches Alexander with a strong crack to the ribs! Alexander grits his teeth as he feels one of his ribs crack! [ 5 points of damage!]

The archer stares at Milton with blood in his eyes! He pulls back his bow...MISS! The arrow sticks in the door jamb.

The second arrow also flies wide...

The leather clad man begins to circle behind Alexander with cat like grace, his daggers poised to strike.

Next Round Heroes roll=6, enemies roll=3 ]

What do you do?


Status--Alexander 3 HP left, Milton undamaged

Milton goes after the Leather Clad Man.

Milton fires two more arrows at the leather clad man...both fly wide of the mark! [Miss! 1d20=9, 1d20=6]

The man looks at Milton and turns to target him instead!
