Chapter 7 -- In Search of a Book Seller
Re: Chapter 7 -- In Search of a Book Seller
Milton says, Probably some imprisoned Rana trying to claw his way free. We should be cautious unless it isn't, though.
Re: Chapter 7 -- In Search of a Book Seller
The scratching becomes louder, almost insistent.
Re: Chapter 7 -- In Search of a Book Seller
Milton says through the door in Ranese, Ne t'inquiète pas, nous venons te sauver. Sois courageux, ami rana. He will check the door for traps and lock.

Balthar says"It's either someone that needs help or something that wishes us ill will. Milton, try common if you get no reponse."
Re: Chapter 7 -- In Search of a Book Seller
Tarmo stands by, hand axe ready.
Re: Chapter 7 -- In Search of a Book Seller
As Milton continues to address the door in Rana (or French?) the scratching stops for a moment. Then low chanting is heard coming from the door!
Actions?

Balthar backs up but keeps the light on the door. "Well, Tarmo, do we open the door or go and deal with what you found?"
Re: Chapter 7 -- In Search of a Book Seller
"I say we move back south - I think there is some trickery afoot!" Tarmo says. Assuming we're in agreement, he'll nock an arrow and aim it south at the man he saw, when in range.
Re: Chapter 7 -- In Search of a Book Seller
Tarmo moves quietly southward. He sees the figure in robes with a candle in his hand.
A heartbeat passes and the arrow flies...a sharp crack!...the arrow hits the man dead center and splinters.
Tarmo has just killed a statue.
