The quail remind Tarmo and his grumbling stomach that it's time to eat, but he thinks better of hunting just now.

"This might be a good place to stop for a quick lunch. We can sit a bit off the road and watch the hill for any activity before exploring," he says.

You sit quietly in a seclude spot off the trail. The rations you brought are filling...Erlene found some hard cheese and a hunk of crusty bread for each of you. You wash it down with some water.

The day is pleasant, and the area seems peaceful, but for the brooding ruins up the hill. No sound comes forth, nor any sign of life.

After finishing your meal, you carefully check over your packs and equipment and get ready to investigate the ruins.

The ruins are in a very poor state. There seems to be a square buliding...or just the shell of it to the north...and in an area just west of you is a ruined tower, only the foundation is standing.

After eating his fill, Balthar looks to the more seasoned adventurers as to which direction to go amongst the ruins.

Milton suggests the building first, padding over there quietly as he can and peeking in.

The Rana slips quietly off to inspect the ruins. His small stature makes him quite suited for the job.

As Milton approaches the building, he can see that a corner of it has been exposed leaving a gaping hole and a mountain of rubble that spills out of the corner. The building had two stories at one time, but that was long ago. Now the second story lies smashed and crumbling upon the first.

He listens intently. If he hears nothing, he peeks in to look through the hole, being careful to approach so his shadow doesn't go into the room.

Tarmo waits and watches, bow ready. If nothing seems amiss he'll slowly approach and take a peek in the ruined tower.

The SE corner of the building has crumbled, making a mound of rubble at the corner. Milton is able to scramble up the rubble, he can see light filtering into the ruins. Most of the ceiling is collapsed. Through the rubble choked ruins, he can discern a couple small paths that go into the middle of the building. No noise comes from the ruins. The sun is still high in the sky.

A path in the rubble or a path of recent activity (e.g. footprints)
