Aldarren - Ranger
"Well met gentlemen," Aldarren says with a nod to each as he approaches. "I am familiar, or was familiar which much of the nearby area. As our liege has indicated, I also possess a map."

"The capital, Cormandy, lies farther south," the ranger finishes.

"Well met, Alderren, well met," Tamerlane replies in a friendly tone, puffing on his long-stemmed pipe while keeping a glass of brandy at hand. He quietly watches as the Ranger unrolls a map on the trestle, his eyes roaming the lines and marks on the paper while the Ranger talks.

"I am a stranger to these lands," Tamerlane admits. "Perhaps you could tell us something about the land and settlements around Wickersham?"

Fredrick stands to get a better look at the map
He directs his attention towards Sir Miles
We would be able to find plenty of people to aid us from Cormandy, so at least one party should travel South.
He pauses
But there is also a lot of uncharted territory to the West, is any one here familiar with these lands?

Aldarren - Ranger
"Well much that once was is now lost, but as to what I know...
North are hills, a small outpost lies that way...it is not garrisoned now. Past that are the Blue Ridge Gnomes and the foothills of the Iron Mountains, ancestral home of the dwarves.
East is mainly woodlands and plains. The road arcs southward to Cormandy. Mainly farming communities lie along the roads and many more to the south. Mainly human and some hobbit communities.
West is the blighted lands...the pieces of Pallandria destroyed much of the old elven kingdom to the west. The Tanglewood was nearly destroyed...the remaining woods are haunted by unknown evils.
South lies Cormandy, southwest lies the road to Marshtown...an evil swamp filled with crones and hags lies that way. A small rana community settled in Marshtown. Some Thugtoads bully them and are believed to be employed by a vicious old crone."

"We'd do well to stay away from the west and Marshtown to the southwest, at least for now," Tamerlane states, rubbing his chin. "I would love to go north and see the lands of the both the gnomes and dwarves, but it seems the road east fits out immediate purpose. Village or hamlet, we'll not lack for shelter as we make our way, spreading the word."

Cedric nods in agreement. This is an ambitious undertaking and I'd like to start in the direction that offers the best chance of early success. To my mind, the east fits the bill.

Tamerlane looks at the others. "So, are we in agreement? Do we leave on the morrow?"

Well accustomed to requests for discretion, Cedric agrees with a nod.
