"I will stay somewhere between Milton and Alexander," Tamerlane replies, gripping his staff a little tighter.

Tamerlaine wrote:"Hill giants, plural," Tamerlane mutters, an index finger tapping the staff nervously. "I doubt the whole of us can take on even one giant. But the children...I think about the children. Perhaps we should at least investigate; that is determine if the children are still alive."
Aldarren - Ranger
"No. One giant, and two children. Are all agreed to move tonight?"

"Aye, ranger, let us not tarry any longer," the mage replies. ""ere I lose my backbone," he adds in a low voice.
Re: Wickersham, Chapter 2 New Wickersham
The sun drops quickly into the west as the double moons begin their rise in the east. Heimos, the small red moon is just a thin crescent, waning, as it rides low in the sky glowering upon the land. Pallandria, once might, is now a fractured silver orb, shattered and gouged, an angry cloud of debris follows in its wake.
Cedric, priest of the old gods, feels the remnants of power as Pallandria arches overhead. With Heimos in a waning crescent and Pallandria is dominant [Granting her faithful clerics +1 caster levels for the day]
Cedric, you take this as a good omen, as you move into the dark woods for tonight's grim work.
Fredrick, the monk follows the lead of Aldarren, the ranger as they move north into the woods. The waning moon of Pallandria still gives ample illumination for the woodsman to follow the trail of the giant...
Four hours later, your party continues to stumble through the forest, careful with each step, hearts pounding in your ears, until you come upon a distant light among the trees. As you get nearer you see a campfire blazing cheerily in the night. The smell of roasted meat fills your nostrils...it is not a pleasant smell like that of warm inns from your memory, but more like the burnt stench of flesh and hair...
What shall you do?

"Dear Gods," Tamerlane whispers, his nose wrinkling at the smell,"have we come to late?"
Re: Wickersham, Chapter 2 New Wickersham
Alexander silently peers around, keeping his eyes and ears open for any sights or sounds, aside from the ones coming from the fire. Are there any to be seen or heard?
Re: Wickersham, Chapter 2 New Wickersham
Milton will hold his finger up to his mouth to silence Tamerlane and others. He motions that he will sneak up and investigate if he can. He then does so.

Milton pads off towards the firelight. As he moves stealthily into the brush, he hears the rumbling sound...like a bear snoring.
50' from the campfire, Milton can see a hill giant lying against a fallen tree. In his arm is a wooden keg, cradled lovingly. The remains of a black bear lie over the fire on a spit. Hair and flesh burned off in the giant's crude attempt at cooking. Leaning against a stump are two children, huddling together, frightened. The giant has bound their hands and feet with cord.

Fredrick is going to use his thief skills to try and move towards the children without waking the sleeping giant.
He motions for the ranger to follow.
