Alexander lowers his eyes, knowing truth lies in Aldarren's words. Saying nothing, he looks up at the others in anticipation of their thoughts on the matter.

Fredrick steps in My friends, let us not forget who is now in our company. pointing to the children
We could risk an assault on the beast in hopes to prevent further destruction, but if we fail? Fredrick shakes his head

he pauses a moment...
Perhaps, we could use this opportunity to disable the creature. Milton could get the children far enough away in case anything goes wrong, and we could take out the giant's eyes. Not a killing blow but just enough to keep it from being a threat to New Wickersham. At least until we have enough men to finish the creature off.

"The land here is no place for one of its kind," Tamerlane states in a low voice. "It is a threat to one and all who live here. Its size and brute strength makes the giant more than a match for all of us. It would foolish to give up any advantage. Any other time in another place far from here, my curiosity would have me at least attempt a conversation, but not here, not tonight. I'm with Alderran, it seems. A silent swift death would be merciful at least."

Aldarren - Ranger
"Thank you friends, but we have one last voice to hear," Aldarren says as he looks over at Milton.

Milton is with the children away from the conversation.

The company, in hushed tones, discusses the grim work ahead of them. Milton has carried the children to the south a short distance, out of earshot, while they plan their attack upon the sleeping hill giant.

Battle plans? Remember to look over the House Rules to gain some tactical insight...

"It is settled, then", Alexander agrees. "Let us be merciful and end his life swiftly. May Theos rest his soul..."

As the Hill Giant is asleep, I suppose it would make sense to have the most stealthy character (maybe Aldarren, since Milton is with the kids..?) silently creep up on him and slit his throat with a dagger. If this or likewise will be the battle plan, Alexander will go along but keep some distance, clutching shield and sword, ready to jump in should the Hill Giant awake or should his assistance be needed otherwise.

Tamerlane will remain far to the rear of any action, yet close enough to cast his Magic Missile spells.

Fredrick, also having thief skills, will sneak up on the giant with the ranger and prepare to strike the giant's eyes with his polearm if Aldarren should fail to kill the creature with one blow. Fredrick waits for Aldarren to move and will follow in accordance with the plan.

Milton will be the sole survivor of this fiasco. ;)
