Finnr will see if his companions could use some binding of their wounds.

"I think we could all use a strong drink!" Eyeing the gold in the treasure horde, Finnr grins, "Aye, and I'll buy the first round!"

Fenwick wonders why the holy water did not have the same effect. He checks on the others and investigates the statue.

Oberon holds Vei-Eldur aloft bellowing, 'Vuod and his cronies line the halls of Valhalla whilst his vanquishers drink in the victory of their passing. This temple's lost priest is avenged, hail the champions of Grimmsgate!'

Finnr helps his wounded companions, Fenwick takes a look at the statue. It appears unremarkable save for the large cache of coins and gems spilling from its broken base.

The hoard is assessed: 1,830gp, 2,700sp, many thousands of cp, 12 gems of varying sizes and several jeweled necklaces. You estimate the equivalent of 3,000gp.

Oberon suggests, 'As soon as we're all healed, perhaps we should work our way through the complex and clean out any remaining pockets of evil? The good folks of Grimmsgate can't reclaim their temple until they know it's safe.'

Fenwick nods, Agreed, Oberon. And since that pool was apparently full of holy water, let's get some more of that before we continue. And we might need a wagon to get this haul back to town.

I just hope we're done with the cannibals. Disgusting creatures.

Dolgrim shrugs: "No water is truly holy until it has passed through a cauldron... Let's go find a large cart and wheel this this treasure out of here!" he grunts as he keenly eyes the hoard.

You bind your wounds and rest a bit before loading up on treasure and moving on. The remaining rooms to the south have all been cleared of creatures - some random debris on the floor makes you think they left in haste. Sure enough, when you get to the catacomb entrance (#19) it is ajar and tracks lead out, down the hill and into the wilderness.

So I think we'll call it there - you've defeated the source of evil and the citizens of Grimmsgate will no longer be afraid to venture away from town. You'll be hailed as local heroes, and have secured some nice bits of magic and a treasure hoard - that last one gives you each about 500gp.

Yay! Fenwick delights in his heroism and buys a book with his earnings.
