Albin, Finnur and Holger eagerly count the silver coins and distribute the weight among them: Albin puts 450 coins in his sack, Finnur takes 200 and Holger gathers the remaining 350. Holger then closely inspects the chest: there's no sign of any hidden compartments or secret drawers and judging from its weight, it's fully empty. "Not too bad, for a first find..." he mutters contentedly.

Memphisto will take a closer look at the chest. Upending it if possible. Also, he wants to inspect the walls for secret passages.

“Shall we head back to the main corridor, go north, and take a peek around the corner there (to the east)?”

Memphisto further inspects the chest, tips it over and gives it a good shake: it's fully empty. Even though having checked thoroughly before, he subjects the walls to a final inspection: there are no signs of any secret passages.

Heeding Van's advice and following Dahl's suggestion, the party moves outside and heads north at the intersection. The hallway turns right and then runs eastward for about 12 m; it thereafter turns right once more (south). Just around the corner is a room, only 3 m up ahead: Freda and Albin move to the entrance and see by the faint light - Albin's torch is almost out - that the walls are decorated with thousands upon thousands of tesserae in shades of black, sky blue and silver...

"I must admit that the different decorations in this place are nothing short of fascinating..." says Lisglen while examining the room.

Dahl, remembering the mosaics of the first room they had entered on the first level, places a hand on Memphisto’s shoulder and whispers to him, “Keep your gaze down, friend, till we have a sense of how strong these tesserae are.” Dahl will join the others at the front of the party, curious if they have suffered any ill effect from their glimpse of the room.

As Albin lights up a fresh torch, fully illuminating the room, the colors of the mosaics flare up and Freda, Albin, Lisglen, and Dahl - being the first to enter the room - are suddenly overwhelmed with feelings of celebration and festivity as their minds involuntarily drift back to the many joyous moments in their lives. Tears well up in their eyes, but Albin and Lisglen manage to swallow hard and overcome their emotions. Freda and Dahl however can't help but to first quietly hum, and moments later sing at the top of their lungs, bawdy tavern songs...

Other than the mosaics, the room is empty. There is an exit on the east wall.

Freda and Dahl are both affected by the power of the mosaics for an undisclosed number of turns. During this time spell casting, stealth and surprise are impossible. They can in fact communicate, but only when sung, i.e. that what is said needs to rhyme (kind of) and you need to post the melody your character is singing it to. For example:

Jon's eyes widen as he realizes he can only sing the words he wishes to speak: "Woah, what happened here? Woah, it's the mosaics!" (to the melody of Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer")

Mechanics:

Freda: saving throw.. 1d20 = 6 => FAIL

Albin: saving throw.. 1d20 = 15 => SUCCESS

Lisglen: saving throw.. 1d20 = 16 => SUCCESS

Dahl: saving throw.. 1d20 = 7 => FAIL
