Lisglen turns to Memphisto and says: "Well, friend, it seems obvious from what we learned that we should not touch this door bare handed. Do you know any trick to counter its deadly effect?"

Dahl will inspect the sigil, to see if it is anything he recognizes, careful not to touch the door like poor Emil did.

Memphisto peers carefully at the door, inspecting the sigil. Does he recognize any symbols on the door. Also, in his experience with magic symbols such as this, does he feel the trap is instantly reset or a one shot effect?

With her arrow back in its quiver, Freda walks around, looking at the walls. She's bored while the others ponder the door with its killing wards, wondering if there's a secret or hidden door in this room. So she goes about the walls, looking, peering at anything amiss. Heck, she thought, maybe there would be a word carved into the wall itself, a word that would undo the wards.

Dahl moves up to the door to have a closer look at the glowing glyph. It's in the center of the door, glowing strongly with a deep, yellow/orange light. It appears to be some kind of lettering, but Dahl can't make anything of it:



The door itself looks like any of the other doors in the dungeon, except this one doesn't have a handle. There is no locking mechanism to be seen and the hinges suggest that the door can simply be pushed to open it.

Memphisto joins Dahl and studies the sigil some more, careful not to touch it. He can sense the strong magical aura coming off of the symbol: the trap appears to be recharged and quite dangerous indeed. Having a broad knowledge of the occult, Memphisto does recognize the lettering from his studies: it appears to be written in the ancient and mystical Enochian script...

In the meanwhile Freda extensively checks the room for any clues, carvings, traps or secret passages. She finds nothing of interest.

Magremore wrote:“Van, in your time with the cult, did you see anything like this? Any idea what it means?”

Van moves closer to the door, arms folded and takes a good long look. Then Van shrugs and says, "Hmmm, this I don't recognize. I assumed those dirt worshiping bastards had something to do with this, but now I'm not sure . . . Bah! It's still deadly black magic that will kill. If there's no way to open the door safely, we better leave."

"I think so too." says Lisglen after thinking for a while. "We better visit the more accessible places, and go back here when and if we have nowhere else to go."

Memphisto studies the glyph, "Unless we can find a password, I think we'd better leave this alone..."

Frustrated, Dahl stands in front of the door rattling off a series of passwords he doesn’t truly expect to work . . .

“Open sesame.”

“Long live the King.”

“Joshua.”

Giving up, he turns to the others. “As you suggest, let us explore the rest of this place. Perhaps there will be another way into this same room. Let us return to the main corridor, go north, and see what is around that turn to the east.”
