Embarrassed, Freda wipes her cheeks with the back of one arm as she manages to compose herself. What in the hell was that all about, she wondered?

"I agree," she says, not able to look at the others.

Memphisto frowns, "I hope we don't gather a crowd wishing for an encore."

Dahl starts off a traditional drinking song while the effect seems to wear off with Freda: she gradually gains control over her voice as she manages to reduce her still lilting speech to normal again after some minutes. Holger nods at Lisglen's advice and places his ear against the door. Perhaps its due to Dahl's bawling, but he can't hear a thing coming from the other side. Upon closer inspection, the door appears to be unlocked.

Lisglen carefully attempts to open the door.

Lisglen grabs a hold of the door handle and pushes it to see if the door opens. Swollen with moisture the door has become quite stuck: it won't budge to Lisglen's efforts.

In the meanwhile Dahl feels his urge to sing slowly declining: his bawling has become a - still loud - humming and whistling and he reckons that within a few minutes, the effect should have disappeared altogether.

"Alright gents" says Lisglen, one more time disappointed at his poor show of strength. "Maybe one of you will have more luck than I?"

Whistling, Dahl steps up and throws his right shoulder into the door . . .

Dahl's dash is more successful: with a large bang the door bursts open as he throws in his weight at it while humming a traditional battle hymn. He scrambles to his feet and falls dead silent upon seeing what lies beyond...

The room is exceptionally large - approximately 15 m by 12 m - with a 9 m high ceiling. It's almost cavern-like in appearance, and a sharp smell of sulfur penetrates the noses of the adventurers. Shreds of a once-fine rug lie across the floor, which itself is pitted and marked with streaky deposits.

On the other side of the room - against the east wall - stands a rickety old wardrobe on top of which sit two creatures with the lower body of a small dragon and the upper body of a female human. They stare venomously at the intruders to their domain while letting out a slow, threatening hiss and unfolding their wings: it seems they have marked their targets and prepare to move in for the attack to defend their property...

"By the True Light, this cannot be natural!" says Lisglen, as surprised as the others. Coming back to his senses, he adds: "Maybe it would be wiser to close the door first and prepare our defense?"
