Lisglen takes a hold of the door handle and pulls it firmly... Unfortunately, the door does not give way.

"Damn with those doors!" exclaims Lisglen, once more unlucky at opening them.

Dahl has better luck with the door: with a firm pull he opens it and the adventurers can peer into the room that lies beyond...

Neat stacks of hundreds of bones are spread across the 6 m by 9 m room. On the south wall is a dusty curtain of tattered black cloth which - in the brief moment of enhanced lighting as Albin lights up a new torch besides the dying one - Dahl could have sworn he saw moving...

Lisglen enters the rooms prudently, at most 1 or 2m away from the torch bearer, making a sign with his hand for his companion warriors to join him. He will start by examining the bones.

Dahl approaches the tattered curtain and reaches out with his spear to move it and try to see what’s behind there, shield arm raised in front of him, just in case.

Holger enters the room last and closes it behind us, then keeps watch as Lisglen and Dahl examine the room.

Lisglen enters the room and kneels down at one of the stacks of bones. From the size and shape of them he concludes that these must be human femurs. As the others enter the room with Holger closing the ranks - shutting the door behind them - Dahl moves up to the curtain with his shield and spear raised. Just as he reaches for the piece of cloth with the tip of his spear to reveal what is hidden behind it, the curtain is abruptly shoved aside: Dahl moves back a few paces in sheer horror as he stares into the deep, dark eye sockets of two animate skeletons. Their notably long arms and stooped posture cause their knuckles to almost touch the ground as they begin slouching towards the adventurers. Their bulging foreheads and razor sharp teeth leave no doubt: these are the skeletons of carnivorous apes!
