Memphisto will pull his hood over his head and bend down keeping focus on the floor. If he suffers no ill effects, he will enter the room and make a careful inspection of the floor.

"Lisglin, does the figure on the wall look familiar to you? Can you describe it to me, if you please?"

Memphisto suffers no ill effects by entering the room in this fashion: averting his glance from the walls, he is doing fine. Holger and Finnur enter the room after him: they are not affected by the mosaics. Holger pushes the door slightly ajar, so that Albin's torchlight leaking into the corridor is minimized, and keeps an eye on it.

Memphisto asks the others, "Looking at the coloration of the flagstones...do you think this is a news build or maybe something is underneath?"

He will examine the flagstones for any sign of hidden entrance or secret compartment.

"Albin, stay in the doorway....don't let that door close."

"Unfortunately, the picture is not very clear" answers Lisglen, looking at the wall. He will try to describe it as well as he can.

Is there any other door or opening going out of the room, aside from the one the party used to enter?

Dahl uses his spear to scrape at the dirt between some flagstones. “Not sure,” he replies to Memphisto. Dahl, head down and continuing to scrape, “Lisglen, does any part of that mosaic on the south wall seem protruding or loose? Does there seem to be anything there that could be pushed, turned, or otherwise manipulated.”

There is no door to be seen, other than the one the party entered through. Lisglen inspects the mosaic with the worship ritual on the south wall more closely: the depiction is about six feet wide and eight feet high (the ceiling in this room is eleven feet high) from the floor up, but he can't see any protrusions, handles, buttons, or the like. He pushes against it, and nothing happens. He puts his hands flat on the mosaic and pushes sideways, upward and downward... Nothing.

Holger stands guard at the door: there is nothing to be seen or heard in the hallway beyond it.

Meanwhile, Memphisto examines the floor by tapping the flagstones with the end of his staff, one by one, carefully making sure that he keeps looking away from the mosaics. The flagstone in the middle of the room, being particulary round compared to the others, sounds quite different: where the other stones give off a dull thud when tapped, this stone returns a more light and sharp sound.

Dahl's scraping doesn't reveal anything notable at any of the other flagstones, and he scrapes away the dirt around the stone indicated by Memphisto more thoroughly.

Memphisto will make a closer examination of the circular stone. He will take his dagger and push around the edges, and also try to push on the stone itself.

The circular stone turns out the be a rather thin piece of slate, which Memphisto quite effortlessly pries loose and lifts with his dagger. In the recess beneath it he finds a handle.

Memphisto muses to himself, "Well, that is interesting..."

"Someone please bring me the torch."

Memphisto carefully examines the handle, looking for any contact poisons or needles. If he finds nothing, he will grab the handle and pull it.

OOC--I wonder if he can pull the handle with his fingers crossed?!

Dahl walks over to the side of the circular slate opposite Memphisto (and next to Albin with the torch), positions his shield in front of himself and readies his spear.
