Deccon charges the hunchback, swinging his sword at the foul creature's head.

To hit with longsword: [1d20+2] = 6+2 = 8, damage with longsword: [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7

Deccon swings at Hunchback...and misses!

Loren takes a swing at Hunchback as well and he too misses with his mace.

Gormlaith rushes Big Boy, her blade flashing in the torchlight...

Gormlaith To Hit [1d20+2] = 2+2 = 4 Damage [1d6+3] = 6+3 = 9

Cauley joins Gormlaith at her side, taking a wild swing at Big Bog...

Cauley To Hit: [1d20] = 8 Damage: [1d6] = 1

A bad round of luck indeed

On their turn, Hunchback quickly tosses his sword away as if it had burned his hand to hold it. He falls to his knees, groveling and crying, speaking in halting Common to spare him while Big Boy turns and runs back into the corridor he came from.

Actions?

Loren AC 6 [13] HP 6/6
Deccon AC 4 [15]* HP 7/7
Gormlaith AC 7 [12] HP 8/8
Yilmaz AC 9 [10] HP 6/6

"Down on your stomach!" Loren shouts to the hunchback, "Lie still and you will be spared." If the goblin complies, he will indeed spare it from attack, if it does not, he will attack again.

How far is the big fella from Deccon and how fast is he moving? Can Deccon get a parting shot in, or does it look like I can run him down without getting too far?

If the answer is no, then Deccon will force the Hunchback to the ground and bind his wrists with rope. Whilst he does this he says "Yilmaz how long are these f**kers going to be sleeping for? We need to get em trussed up or start slitting throats...we don't want a dagger in the back."

Big Boy used his turn on initiative to turn tail and run back into the darkness

Gormlaith growls with frustration, wanting to chase after Big Boy but doesn't. "To dark to chase 'im. Too dangerous. Could be traps, or more of them things lying in wait." C"auley nods in assent.

The creature obeys Loren and gets down onto the floor, weeping and blubbering. "Pwease...don...hurts...Nilog! Me...don...wanna...fight!"

Yilmaz knows these goblins will be out long enough to be tied, or killed at least.

Actions?

Deccon AC 4 [15]* HP 7/7
Gormlaith AC 7 [12] HP 8/8
Yilmaz AC 9 [10] HP 6/6

Yilmaz hands over his rope to Asil and instructs him to tie up the sleeping goblins: "Make sure that those knots are nice and tight, boy. When they awake we don't want to be caught by surprise."

Deccon helps Asil tie up the remaining goblins then loads his crossbow and covers the passage that the big boy ran down.

It becomes apparent that the hunchbacked creature Nilog has made up for his smaller size and deformity by being a bit smarter than his compatriots. He's a hobgoblin, smaller than his kind, a runt barely taller than the goblins tied up. He learned a little Common from a unlucky human that they kept around until they ate him. Big Boy is called Gnish and he's a cousin, but he's mean and the goblins mistreated him also.

"Nilog is your name?" Brother Loren asks, "I'm an Brother Loren Acolyte of Sol, god of light."

"Will you serve us? Tell us what you know of this place. Translate what we say to these others and what they say?" says Loren,"If you agree and serve us faithfully, we will not harm you and when we are done with this place may choose to continue with us or go your own way."

"Think on this well, Nilog, for your answer will seal your fate this day."
