Wulfric - human cleric stunned into silence

The collapsing house snaps Wulfric out of his silence. By Cedrik's boots! he declares.

He recoils at the scent of the dead goblin. Just like in the dream, he murmurs, staring in disbelief at the corpse. He then investigates a part of the house as far away from the stench as he can get.

Faro approaches the body, examining it closely. He searches for traps before doing so, ensuring there are no tripwires or other shenanigans before checking the goblin's possessions. He will try to determine a cause of death, other than fire, if there is one -- looking for bruising or blade cuts.

Calardir - Elf

Calardir holds up his sleeve in an unsuccessful attempt to shield himself from the smell. Goblins... of course they are involved at some level. He will try to determine how little work needs to be expended to free the bow.

It's a mess around the body - to safely extract the bow (which is pinned beneath the creature) would probably take 15-20 minutes with everyone carefully working to clear and prop up some beams. With the collapse of the wall, there is nothing over you or very close, so the danger of getting crushed beneath wreckage is fairly small, but it's like a big Jenga game with all the pieces in odd positions supporting other pieces...

"Careful. In my experience, where there is one goblin, there's generally several more nearby. I can't imagine a goblin sneaking this far inside the village...unless they came up from out of the ground. Here or nearby thereabouts," Gerolt ponders out loud before joining in the clearing of the rubble. "Damn, but does that goblin reek!"

"The best kind of Goblin, a dead one," Gorin says. He'll assist moving the rubble away from the body.

Calardir - Elf

Should we try to get Mr. Stink out of here or let him lie? Might have something of interest on him... I could go either way.

Working together you are able to safely clear the area around the dead and smelly goblin. As the goblin comes into clear view, some of the gawking spectators gasp and chatter quietly among themselves...

From initial inspection, it appears that it was crushed by a falling beam, and the burns to it's body occurred after it died. As you move the body, you see that the bow peeking out from underneath the corpse is actually a light crossbow. It has fire runes carved across it, and they seem to have a slight twinkling luminescence to them. The goblin has no valuables aside from the crossbow, 6 crossbow bolts and a rusty old knife.

As you talk about what to do with the body and how to move forward with this discovery, you are interrupted by a tall skinny middle aged man in simple leather armor carrying a spear. He clears his throat and says "Uh, Sirs and madame, because of what you've uncovered here, the village council is having an emergency meeting tonight, and they are requesting your presence three hours from now at the Plow and Sickle."

The village militia man politely nods and pauses (if you have no questions of him, he excuses himself to resume his patrolling) you have time to do other things before the meeting (if you choose to attend)

Actions? What do you do with the items found, the body, etc? (to be clear, it doesn't seem like anyone expects you to remove the remains, and no one seems to have taken any notice of the crossbow, the goblin is the main topic of chatter)
