Moonglimmer readies her bow and arrow while looking for movement beyond the sleeping hobgoblins.
After a minute or two, if there is nothing going on there, she will begin moving forward.
Chapter 4 ~ Back to Beamish Hall
Re: Chapter 4 ~ Back to Beamish Hall
Moonglimmer hears the familiar chirpping of Attercop, her giant spider companion. The spiders brushes against the woodelf. She can feel the bristles of the hairy legged creature. {{ I will guard you, elf-friend}}
Moonglimmer, Susanna, and Otis move forward, weapons ready. Erwin and Bane, the Jub Jub bird, follow cautiously. Fungo may be hidden in the undergrowth or not. It is hard to keep track of the little hobbit. At the entrance to the ring fort, they see six hobgoblins slumbering peacefully around a small fire. The smell of roast possum fills the air.
Just past the slumbering folk, a gaping opening beckons. Two large stone monoliths stand like sentinels against the earthern embankment of a ring fort. Although it is daylight, the stones cast deep shadows, cloaking the entrance in darkness.

Re: Chapter 4 ~ Back to Beamish Hall
"We must quickly dispatch these creatures while they slumber," Moonglimmer whispers to her companions.
"I will scout ahead to peek inside the opening."

Re: Chapter 4 ~ Back to Beamish Hall
Fungo slips from the underbrush his sword ready. He will slit throats, preferably hobgoblin ones.
Re: Chapter 4 ~ Back to Beamish Hall
Fungo's approach seems more efficient than the mace. Susanna will stand guard over him as he dispatches the enemy.

Re: Chapter 4 ~ Back to Beamish Hall
The grim reaper walks among the hobgoblins in the guise of a little hobbit. Fungo slips quietly from one to the next dispatching them with grim determination. One has to wonder how to reconcile the jovial, always hungry, little fellow with the grim figure now on the scene.
Attercop jumps quietly onto one of the stone monoliths as Moonglimmer investigates the area between the stones. A cool breeze blows through the opening causing a pile of leaves to dance.
The path splits into two, the left curves around not changing elevation. The right curves upward. Both pathways are flanked by stone walls, some collapsed. All have window and door openings.

Fungo checks their pots and stocks for some good grub. Killing hobgobs is hungry work.
Re: Chapter 4 ~ Back to Beamish Hall
Once she's satisfied all the hobs are dead, Susanna will cautiously walk a handful of metres down the left pathway, only to see a bit more of what's around the corner. She'll pause and look for movement, etc, and then come back to the group.
