Fungo admires the Otis from arms length, and he wonders if he'd notice if the table leg ended up "missing." He'll move along when the party starts walking again.

Admiring the beauty of the rowan tree, the party then turns to the north to continue as Aethelwine instructed.

You come upon a more mundane, but welcome sight. On a small hill in the forest, stands a fine apple tree. Many of the apples have already dropped, but there are still more hanging in the branches.

Moonglimmer hears the soft purring of Attercop. The spider is nestled in one of the higher branches, having eaten his fill of apples, lies snoring softly.

The apples are delicious. Fungo could never restrain himself from gorging on the bounty. The animals all clean up the area around the tree. Bane, the JubJub bird, chortles happily, practically swallowing the apples whole.

With restored spirits, the party continues their northward travel (followed by a sleepy but content, giant spider).

Those injure regain 1 hit point from the apple tree. [I took the liberty of healing Otis and Sir Hegwig for 1 point each.]

Several hours later, the party finds a larger hill in the forest. Upon the craggy peak (perhaps 100' up) is nestled a fine rowan tree, bursting with red berries. The way up the hill looks challenging.

Fungo will ask if anyone has rope. He is a good climber and could climb up and others could climb the rope he brings up.

Otis - Fighter

Otis stares at the hilltop and tree and says "That's up there a ways, for sure. I hope that jibba-jabba wookie isn't up there" He looks around for whatever might be the easiest path up. Any sign of tracks or anything obviously going up and down the hill enough to leave a trace?

If nothing obviously dangerous appears, or if anyone else starts to climb up, Otis will climb up as well, keeping watch as we climb.

"No rope here..." Erwin says, looking around at the others expectantly. If none is forthcoming, he'll start up the hill slowly with the others.

There is no discernable path up the hill. You do see scrub brush and weeds that may provide something to grab onto. The hill is fairly steep. It could be climbed, but one stumble may cause you to fall. The rowan tree stands alone at the top of the hill. Nothing but shrubs, weeds, and rocks cover the rest of the hill.

Otis - Fighter

Otis will join anyone who climbs, but before doing so he points to the spider and says "Hey! Can this guy climb up and get a branch? He does what you ask him to, right?"

Otis stares at Attercap with interest and a tiny bit of apprehension.

Wait, can that spider spin me a silk rope? asks the halfling, who will be on the edge once he gets up this cliffside.

Moonglimer stops and thinks, *Perhaps that is a brilliant idea. Attercop has some webspinning ability, so perhaps he could attach one end to the tree and carry the other downhill.*

Moonglimmer will chitter her inquiry to her eight-legged friend!

Attercop chitters away at the elf for several minutes and then scuttles about 15' up the hill and turns around, watching the party with his eight black eyes.
