As expected by the ragged conditions of these men, they are penniless. They do wear leather armor...not great, but serviceable...and Fungo also finds one dagger, a quarterstaff, and a oaken club.
The Garwood Forest lies to the south about a day's travel. To the east lies Barlow County. The day is nearing end and Susanna has already made a fire.
What do you do?
Chapter 4 ~ Back to Beamish Hall
Re: Chapter 4 ~ Back to Beamish Hall
Moonglimmer checks out the leather armor to see if a suit will fit her.
Re: Chapter 4 ~ Back to Beamish Hall
Fungo also checks to see if the leather could be made to fit him
Re: Chapter 4 ~ Back to Beamish Hall
Fungo takes a sniff of the stained leathers. He figures that they smell even worse than when the original owner had worn it.greyarea wrote:Fungo also checks to see if the leather could be made to fit him
in fact, when Fungo gets closer to the dead men, he is sure that the cow must've smelled better!
Fungo could have one suit of leather cut to fit him, but it would require finding a leather worker to do this.
Maybe Erwin remembers that in the town of Dubbston, he had a leatherworker fit a suit of leather for himself. Dubbston is on the road that leads back to Rumpstone. It was from Dubbston that the party first entered the forest of Garwood in search of wolves. Perhaps Erwin will pass that information on to Fungo.

Susanna smiles and nods to herself. "Yes, thank you." She gestures to the fire and invites the others to sit, then frowns at the corpses. Once the others have what they want from them, she will drag them a good distance away from the fire, in the hopes that scavengers won't bother the group.
Later, she'll rifle through her bag and pull out some rations. She's got about a week before she needs to try and sort out some money.

Beyond the Borderlands, Susanna Clank
Re: Chapter 4 ~ Back to Beamish Hall
Fungo offers to take first watch while others sleep.
He watches Susanna drag the bodies away, scratching his head as she does so. Then he sheaths the dagger after clearing his nose of the smell of the leather. Probably better to go naked, he figures.

With the smell and Fungo's reaction, Erwin thinks better of it. He'll take second watch.jcftao wrote:Maybe Erwin remembers that in the town of Dubbston, he had a leatherworker fit a suit of leather for himself. The group settles down, making camp and breaking out a bit of rations. The cares of the day fade as companions, old and new, sit in the warm glow of the fire.
The morning comes. No sign of bandit or beast in the night, the party makes a quick breakfast and then breaks camp.
Travelling through the day, meeting a farmer or two along the road, the party once again sees the green smudge some distance away...Garwood Forest!
Erwin and Moonglimmer have no trouble guiding the group to the forest. Dusk approaches and camp is made once again. The night is quiet but for a lone wolf howling in the distance.
Morning comes and the party awakes to a wall of green forest that is the Garwood.
Actions? Do you wish to return to the ringfort within the Garwood, explore elsewhere in the forest, or do something else?

Fungo says, So what’s the quickest way to the ringfort?
