Otis and Sammich set a few nearby huts on fire. They go up quickly, evidently vacated.

Fungo can hear the sounds of voices coming from other huts. They sound fearful and angry. The words sound like gibberish to him. Perhaps the Daggoth speak a different language?

Erwin stands by the sleeping warriors. The only other sound he hears is the cry of a heron in the distance.

Any other actions?

Otis - Fighter

Otis rejoins the group with Sammich. "Nice job, my friend, that'll give them something to attend to while we leave here. I think we ought to go somewhere other than the path we came from, find a place to get these goons to talk and find out what's going on."

OOC: Let's make like a tree and leave. Find some area away from the main trails and not too close to our drop off/pickup point. We need to interrogate these guys, maybe if we can evade the rest of the mob we can take these prisoners back with us?

Erwin agrees with Otis' plan. "Let's head back using a different route. If we can find a good place to stop we can interrogate the prisoners then."

Fungo returns to the the group explaining that he can’t understand them. He will help with the bodies as we make like a banana and split.

Your party hurries through the marsh, deciding to head away from the village and the group of angry idolaters in the cove. You move inland. The sound of warriors shouting in alarm and confusion can be heard behind you. The captives are tiring you.

In the distance you spy a low hill. Gnarled cypress trees surround it as does a bracken pool choked with marsh grass. In the moonlight, you can see the pale outline of a structure. It looks half buried in vines.

Past this hill, the marsh opens up into a long stretch of water.

A breeze picks up, blowing the scent of salt water off of the bay. The marsh ahead of you is alive with the sound of insects and croaking frogs. The nearby hill is dark. The dead grass rustles in the slight breeze. The stone structure stands illuminated by the moonlight.

The sound of warriors is growing louder. You can make out the dim light of torches in the distance. It won't be long before they are upon you!

Let's head to that ruin on the hill. We may be able to hide there, or at least defend ourselves.

Otis - Fighter

Otis helps carry the captives to the ruin. If they start to fuss or awaken, he'll knock them out.
"Hey guys, make sure we don't make tracks to that building, we don't want them guys following us, eh?"

Your party quickly makes their way up the hill. Several of the woodsy fellows (Erwin and Susanna) try to hide their passage.

The top of the hill is in view. You see a weed choked stone structure, ancient and unlike anything you've ever seen. Certainly the primitive daggoth people did not build this. From your vantage point, you can see six torches flickering to the south. Some head southward, others north, three torches move westward towards your location. They'll be here in a few minutes at most.

There is an entrance on one side of the stone structure. The building looks to be sort of pyramid in shape, perhaps 100' on a side.

The entrance is paved stone and stone steps lead down into the gloom. No sound can be heard.
