Sleep spell oddity

Post by merias »

I just noticed the sleep spell in WB FMAG affects 1d6 creatures of "3 to 4+1" hit dice. That seems excessive - up to six Ogres? So I looked back and the sleep spell has been that way since the WB first print! I think it should be 1d6 creatures of 3 to 3+ hit dice, and one of 4 to 4+1 hit dice. That more closely matches the OD&D ranges, anyway.
