Wilderness & sea travel?

Post by Wodwulf_Seaxaning »

In the the Wilderness & Sea Adventuring section it mentions travel rates but doesn't mention whether it is in miles, hexes or squares. It implied using hexes or squares for mapping purposes but not if the numbers represent those movements. Adventurer Conqueror King has more clear charts. I just want clarification so I have a better idea of the intended movement rates are for: Miles, hexes or squares. Any help will be appreciated as I'll be running my first S&W Complete campaign/game next Friday.

I believe the sea travel rates are in 30-yard naval hexes per turn, but yes I agree it is not very clear. That makes sense if you look at the rowboat slow/medium/fast speeds. For aerial combat rates, it is 10-yard hexes per combat round, and the movement rate given in the monster descriptions is the number of 10-yard hexes it can move in one combat round when flying straight and level. For wilderness travel the rates are in miles per day, based on the base move rate.
