Nope, it's good! Don't forget you get max HP to start. Also, not mentioned before, but I generally allow MUs to memorize read magic automatically each day, it does not count against your spells. I did indeed forget about the scroll rules! I've jiggled my inventory so I can afford something to make Jolly Old Schmandta's job a little easier.

Looks good, @jimbo. In addition to the scroll he made, he has a scroll of hold portal.
And a reminder you can't cast a spell from memory until a spell is prepared, which takes a full round, but preparing can be done in advance (see house rules).
