He looks at Grimma, You know where I can trade this bow in and get a proper longbow? Also, I'll be needing some leather armor. Maybe you can convince his lordship to provide one for me for free? If not, then he can have all my gold. I'm used to being broke...
"I will see what I can do about a long bow. But his Lordship has been quite generous already, 30 coins is just enough to buy leather armor and a passable sword," Grimma says.

Gerhard looks at Grimma expressionless and says, I am not a knight, clanking around in armor. Give me a sturdy longbow, some yard long arrows, and a target. That is all I ask. Oh, and some decent wine...

DM Merias,
I have adjusted Guntram's gear and gold under the Finished Character forum that reflects my purchase of the vial of holy water and the change. Let me know if that's cool.

Sounds good. You can all record any additional equipment you purchase, I'll get the travel thread started Monday.

Not having eaten for several days on the long trip from northern parts, Oberon has been quietly finishing his plate any unattended plates. With a full mouth he says, "If you clan didn't see fit to furnish you with sufficient supplies, Oberon has coin aplenty. Gold is easy to come by, good archers are not so readily found. How much do you need?"

OCC: Oberon is willing to chip in 40 gold pieces.

Gerhard can take Oberon up on his offer, or trade his shortbow + 30gp for a longbow and leather armor (close enough for a trade). Whatever works :).

You finish up your meal, some of you stocking up on some last minute purchases in town before retiring for the night. At dawn you suit-up, gather your equipment and head downstairs. Grimma is already in the common room, standing next to a table, putting supplies into her backpack. Sounds emanate from the adjoining kitchen, but you see no others. A large plate of fresh bread, a pitcher of ale and six mugs sit on table next to Grimma. She has on a well-worn chain hauberk, and you see a sword and bow leaning against a chair nearby. She looks up as you approach.

"Mornin'. You'll be glad to know I found two healing poultices, they take a bit to work, but work they do. Here ya go, father," Grimma says, handing one of the poultices to Guntram, then putting the other in her pack.

"Have a bite if ya' want, then we'll be headed out. I should probably lead, we'll follow the river valley for a bit, when we turn north towards the keep, you'll want to mind your surroundings. All sorts of man and beast alike have been seen in the wilds in these parts."

Update here with any last-minute actions, then we'll head over to the wilderness travel thread... feel free to discuss the marching order, then would someone update the party status thread with the marching order you decide on?

Gerhard smiles but shakes his head, "Thank you, but I will make do with this shortbow for now. I'll just have to let em get in a little closer before I kill em."

Gerhard will get some leather armor and also a dozen arrows. Spending 20 gp or so.

Oberon shrugs, "Good man Gerhard, any that slip past you shall wear my morning star as a crown."

"Heavy is the head that wears the crown..." Gerhard laughs.

"Friend Oberon, let us share a good bottle or two before the journey begins in earnest."
