It might be time for Oberon to pick up a magic sword...
Armour looks nice too!
Return to the Elder Temple
Re: Return to the Elder Temple
So Oberon has the sword and a suit of plate armor. Finnr and Dolgrim are happy as they are. Grimma will also avail herself of a suit of armor, that leaves one suit of armor left, if Guntram wants it.

Re: Return to the Elder Temple
Dolgrim moves on to take a look into each direction at the crossing up ahead.
Re: Return to the Elder Temple
After donning the armour and limbering up with the new sword (to be named "Skull Splitter"), Oberon also heads towards the intersection.

Re: Return to the Elder Temple
Guntram will say a prayer to the dead knights asking the Goddess for her blessing. He will then don the last suit of plate mail if it is still available.
Re: Return to the Elder Temple
I updated the party status table to reflect everyone's new AC.
You move up to the corridor, stopping at the next intersection. Two narrow corridors shoot off to the northeast and southwest.
The northeast corridor goes only a short distance, by Grimma's lantern light you see it opens into a small chamber (room 22). You see in it the remains of three stone coffins, shattered and broken. The walls of the chamber are scorched, and bones are scattered around. Unlike the walls, the bones are not scorched.
The corridor to the southwest goes about 30 feet and turns south, out of sight.
Actions?

Re: Return to the Elder Temple
Finnr looks into the looted tomb, "Hmmm...looks like someone's already been here to get their armor already."
Re: Return to the Elder Temple
Fenwick says, Don't be fooled, there is something not right here. Be wary.
He does not enter the room.

Re: Return to the Elder Temple
Oberon shudders.
He looks confused, even dazed. 'Sword is talking to me. I don't think it want's to be called Skull Splitter; it is Vei-eldur'
Oberon, almost in a trance, uses Vei-eldur to point north. 'It want's me to go that way. Kill the Ash Demon. That's where it lairs.'
Oberon shakes his head and slaps his helmet. 'What? What kind of name for a sword is Vei-eldur? Skull Splitter? Yes! Disemboweler? Yes! Vei-eldur? Hardly... If I start wandering off on my own or calling my shield Neville; someone give me a nudge please.'

Re: Return to the Elder Temple
Dolgrim shakes his head at Oberon's ramblings: "Let's hold it together there, Northerner... Unless one consumes a considerable amount of strong dwarven mead, swords do not tend to talk. Nor do they have a will of their own..." He then turns to the others and pulls Demon Bane from his belt: "Nevertheless, killing the Ash Demon does sound like a good plan: 't is what we came here for after all! Shall we move northwards?"
