Also, the next question is....Where to next? Do you return to the ring fort to hunt the ogre or seek other adventure?

Other possibilities gleaned from Sir Tavish, the Lord's son, Beamish Hall...

"If it is adventure you crave, Milltown is not far to the west. Just keep your eyes sharp for slaver scum and stay to the main road. I've heard that there is a Templar fort south of Milltown. They are watching the Harridlands. You may find some work in their employ, that is, if you don't mention that Silvanus is the greater god."

"To the east of Nye lies Barlow County. Lord Barlow has been having no end of trouble with robbers. Some of his knights had the gall to say the robbers were taking refuge in the Forest of Nye. That is rich! The first squall of a flock of Jub Jubs would have them running back to the open lands!"

"Perhaps you could get a job as guard on a merchant caravan heading northward up into Granden Vale? You may run into a robber or two, but as long as you stay away from the foothills of the Five Kings, you should not run into many problems."

Our weapons are silvered, notes Fungo. I say we head back to the ring fort and take care of that... thing from beyond.

Otis - Fighter

Otis listens to all the possible opportunities for adventure. All of them intrigue him, but he is still curious about the ringfort. "I'm fine with wherever we end up going, but I'm sure wishing I knew what was still in that fort place. And I'd like a go at any ogres too. Nasty things."

Otis is quite pleased to hear of the generosity of Lord Beamish. He's anxious to use these supplies and come back to spread tales of the good deeds we've done.

Consensus is to return to the ring fort.

The adventurers are fully recovered from the harrowing events of their last adventure. Re-armed and re-vitalized, the group makes ready to head south once again.

One point of clarification...Bizenghast needs to decide on a new 1st level spell and also what two spells were scribed upon a scroll.

Lord Beamish's seneschel guides Bizenghast to a locked door in an out of the way place in the hall. The contents of the room show signs of disuse...cobwebs and dust have settled on everything.
There is a workbench, some cabinets, and several slim folios with arcane writing. In essences, all the tools she will need to add a new spell to her spellbook and then create a couple scrolls.
(It will still cost 100sp per scroll to cover some of the hard to find items...such as powdered gemstones, etc.)

Bizenghast will get to work and then tell us the results of her research...

Once again the adventurers leave Beamish Hall. Erwin is restored in health and no longer suffers from the icy touch of the barrow wight. Everyone is re-equipped with the promise to return to Beamish Hall and regale the Knights of Nye with tales of their adventures.

Erwin, a young cleric of the nature god, Silvanus, who reluctantly travels with a large jub jub bird
Moonglimmer, a mysterious wood elf with a giant spider companion
Fungo, the young hobbit whose curiousity is only match by his great appetite
Bizenghast, young magic-user, who fled from the Harridlands
Otis, a simple minded but brave and loyal man-at-arms

--------------------------------------
The company travels most of the day with no difficulties. As the dusk comes on, Moonglimmer hears the sound of an altercation. About 50 yards in the distance a small copse of birch trees stand. A small fire erupts in a shower of sparks and in the light of the fire the party sees a warrior-maiden dressed in plate mail. She has a heavy mace in one hand and brandishes a torch in the other. Nearby a man lies dead with a crossbow bolt in his neck. Three other men circle warily around her, testing her defenses and making ready to strike. They wear leather armor and wield clubs or spears.

"Wait, Fungo!" Erwin yells, then charges after him when he realizes the impulsive Hobbit will not heed his warning.

Otis - FIghter

Otis joins Fungo in his crazy-go-nuts charge.

"WAAAAIIITTTTT FORRRR MEEEE! YOU GIT' AWAY FROM HER RIGHT NOW!"

OOC: Otis charges - sword and shield up and ready. If the attackers back down he'll pause at the ready, but if they show no signs of surrender, he'll attack the closest one that Fungo isn't targeting.

apologies for being slow off the mark!

Seeing that the group who attacked her is somewhat distracted, Susanna will try to edge her way back a bit, so she's not *quite* so surrounded.

All the same, she's wary of the new arrivals. If anyone comes too near, she will strike first, and ask questions once it's quite clear that she's not in any more danger...

Moonglimmer nocks an arrow and shouts, "Beware, strangers. What trouble is afoot here?"

She holds her fire until the woman or one of the men attacks her friends.
