The differences vary by source. Unless you are going by established D&Disms. I'm not making any distinction, but have since learned that there is a difference.
For now, if you see either usage, I'm trying to describe the same thing...a creature of the fey realm.
I didn't realize there was a difference; I thought it was a spelling thing, such as Color or Colour. Do *tell, what is the difference?

In real life folklore, it is way more messy and spelling is irrelevant.
