Well, here I am, Schmidt sighs, and he checks the sack closer after ensuring he's still roped. Anything behind it in the compartment, anything other than coin and jewelry in it?

Schmidt will tie a rope or three around his waist, give the other ends to Heimer and Berthold. In case I feel the need to leave, he remarks. Then, grasphing his holy symbols, he'll approach the altar to give it a good once (and twice) over.
