Re: The Book of Options is here - who's in on the KS?

I went all-in, as usual. Most excited for The Book of Options, the utterly bland title notwithstanding. I mean couldn't they have come up with something better like, Secrets of Lost Lemuria? Even though I have all the Frog God monster books for S&W, I ordered the new one as Matt said there would be ...

Re: Who's in on the Upcoming KS?

I can appreciate the trio of books as being a sort of throwback, but I'm a real sucker for EVERYTHING in just one book, even if that book is massive. For example, I love the Hyperborea RPG, but IMO 2nd edition is far superior to 3rd in part because it's one book rather than 2 (plus that gazetteer). ...

Re: Who's in on the Upcoming KS?

I've heard from Matt Finch about the upcoming Kickstarters for the rules supplement and monsters book. There will also be a couple of modules, but I don't have any details about them yet. Also, the launch will be somewhere between February and April, with late March being the most likely time. Ther...

Re: 50th Anniversary of D&D

In getting back to the original post, we had another fun session of "The Black Monastery" on Friday. The party is blowing through it pretty fast because they're pretty powerful and have lots of magic items. A few wands and staves, along with girdles of giant strength, gauntlets of ogre power, and bo...

Re: 50th Anniversary of D&D

Yeah, whatever. I'm pretty much beyond purchasing anything WOTC publishes. I dislike every version of the game after 1e anyhow and I still have all my old stuff from the 80s, plus lots of retroclone material.

Re: 50th Anniversary of D&D

I got Thracia for free online several years ago, but I can't recall where. But this is what I was talking about from Goodman. These are collected scans of the originals in a nice hardcover, not DCC conversions: https://goodman-games.com/blog/2022/04/06/new-in-the-online-store-judges-guild-deluxe-co...

Re: 50th Anniversary of D&D

Some of the Judges Guild stuff has already been reprinted by Goodman Games in addition to the upcoming new version of Dark Tower. Noble Knight usually has JG material as well. Thanks for letting me know. It's more likely that I will go to Noble Knight and buy some Judges Guild material second hand ...

Re: 50th Anniversary of D&D

Goodman Games, working with Jennell (nee Paul) Jaquays, is releasing an expanded version of "Dark Tower" this year for DCC. But they're including a reprint of the original adventure in the multi-volume boxed set. So I'll just convert the new material over to S&W and use the original material as is. ...

50th Anniversary of D&D

With this being the 50th anniversary of D&D I'm hoping to get a bit more S&W in this year. We started this week with our high level party going through The Black Monastery. So far, pretty fun. They went in through a rear gate, cleared a quadrant out on the main level, then went through two dungeon l...
