Re: White Box: FMAG Errata and Updates
Can we lose the extraneous apostrophe on the back cover?
"[...] steal it's treasure!" should be "[...] steal its treasure!"
"[...] steal it's treasure!" should be "[...] steal its treasure!"

Re: New Quickstart
A couple of things jumped out at me. Page 4: Under Fighter, Level 1, "Roll 1dd+1 for hit points" should be "Roll 1d6+1 for hit points". Page 5: Under Turning undead (new option), it says, "For example: if a Cleric faces 6 skeletons and successfully turns them and rolls a 4 (for HD) on 2d6, then 4 ou...

Re: Alternate Treasure Determination
I don't find the "trade out" system to be fun or interesting. I tend to use the B/X rules for treasure determination, or sometimes the Monster & Treasure Assortment, and then tweak and change things to suit my taste.

Re: Swords & Wizardry in Middle-earth
In the original I.C.E. module Hillmen of the Trollshaws , on which this adventure is more-or-less loosely based, the room is filled with symbols of Utterdarkness, very potent magic from the Rolemaster rules. I adapted it like this: "Magical darkness fills this large room, emanating from over a hundr...

Re: Swords & Wizardry in Middle-earth
Cautiously the party negotiates the narrow staircase, which makes a bewildering multiplicity of twists and turns as it descends for over three hundred feet into the heart of the hill. Eventually the party emerges into a chamber soundly constructed of granite blocks with a level floor. The ranger Yre...

Re: White Box Rules Update/Re-design
I've been running S&W Core lately (The Cleansing of Cameth Brin, recorded elsewhere on these boards) but I finally got around to buying a hardcover of WB:FMAG. And it's splendid. Was it William Morris who said, "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful...

Re: Swords & Wizardry in Middle-earth
Regrouping in Talugdaeri after the debacle with the trolls, our chastened heroes spend some days resting and recuperating. The loss of Pingle Rack is made good when a feisty hobbit adventurer joins the party at the Red Hooves Inn. His name is Chuffles. The slain retainer Fergus is also replaced by a...

Re: Shattering Shields!
I liked the sound of the rule and sought to use it in my B/X games but it never took root because my players gravitate to shieldless magic-users and thieves (and the odd zweihander-wielding fighter) and eventually it was forgotten. I did, however, find a natural home for it in my Old Norse duelling ...

Re: White Box Rules Update/Re-design
I just wanted to chime in here and add my voice to the chorus of praise. It's a great job you're doing, Wanderer. Despite my inner voice yelling, "No! You don't need more iterations of the rules! Don't even think about it!", I know I'll be buying this. In hardback, preferably. Are you planning to do...
