I remembered I have this PDF, but have never done anything with it. Just looking at it again, it is a neat, lightweight system - a complete game in all of 8 pages (granted you need to be an experienced D&D player to make sense of a lot of it).

I like how he gives the historical basis for the demi-humans, especially the Hobbit being pre-Tolkien. I wonder what year Moldvay wrote it? Would have been after he did B/X in 1981 I assume.

I've seen this, it's interesting and considering it's Moldvay, it's double interesting. It supposedly was to support a trio of modules of which only one was published. But Seren Ironhand got great reviews from those who've seen it!
