KIDNAPPED! A WBFMAG Campaign [CLOSED]

Ever notice many of the old D&D adventures involved rescuing someone, or stumbling upon some captive in need of help?
I've had this idea to take bits and pieces from old adventures, file off the serial numbers, re-combine them in (maybe) fresh ways, and present it in a format inpired by the five-room dungeon design idea to make it conducive for play-by-post gaming.
Rules will be WHITE BOX: FANTASTIC MEDIEVAL ADVENTURE GAME because it's dirt cheap (free pdf -- see forum for link). The printed rules will serve as the base, with a few house rules (Elf variant, a perk for humans, each class gets a 3E-inspired minor ability, etc.)
The adventure begins in Mirabilis, the City Afar, in the seaside district of Portside, where the group has found itself staying at an inn whose owner's son when a PC's hireling goes missing! (Dum-dum-dum)
Any interest? Any questions?
Edited to update premise changed by player actions!
