I don't have a problem with you converting the crunch into White Box specific rules. Let me look through my things and figure out where I put my old files.

How is the White Box rules set with extra- and inner-plane travel? Some of my later AD&D2E stuff feature a lot of plane hopping, Githyanki, and other extra-planar critters.

How do you want maps? B&W, color and in what format? JPG, PNG, etc. I can also produce maps in Campaign Cartographer my favorite computer campaign mapping program.

Most of my older maps are hand drawn, but through the miracle of the computer age - I have a scanner. Will you be starting another thread for submissions for issue #2?

White Box doesn't have rules for plane travel. So this could be a good opportunity to expand the game in a new way.

Maps should be B&W and PNG.

We can just keep this thread going for issue 2.

Thanks so much for wanting to contribute to the zine!

I have a draft version of a short one-shot adventure ready here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dlW ... sp=sharing

I might tweak and tune it some more, but I guess it's pretty much done. I didn't get the chance to do the map in a decent way due to my lack of graphical skills, though...

Some suggestions for the sample dungeon:
  • 1. The "game room" key should be labeled in Goblin.
    2. I know that this is supposed to be an example of an "ecology-less" OS dungeon, but how did the Goblins get there? Maybe have another entrance/outlet. Also, instead of secret door at the bottom of the stairs, perhaps make it a point where the goblins "broke through" the wall.
    3. Maybe an example chess puzzle for the game room?
    4. Maybe add one more room where resides the "Mad Wizard" responsible for this mayhem, or perhaps incorporate the idea of another entrance/exit that leads to the dungeons of said wizard's tower...

Do you need any other dedicated help with this? I'm great at proof-reading and making annoying suggestions about layout. ;)

Yes, a proof reader would be great.

When I get closer to releasing the 2nd issue, I'll message you and see if you would like to proof read it.

Thanks for offering to help!

So Tenkar announced that his zine Torchlight is now the Official zine for S&W http://www.tenkarstavern.com/2017/04/ta ... t.html?m=1

So I imagine a lot of submissions will go there instead of to The Wizard's Scroll. It has already been hard to get submissions so his announcement effectively ends TWS as a S&W zine.

So I can either end it after one issue or perhaps change its focus. It was already suggested to make it an OD&D fanzine. Which I like the idea but I think submissions would be rare for that as well. Before I completely shut it down, I'm open to any ideas you may have for how to continue.

My suggestion (not sure if anyone else had suggested it) about the OD&D focus was really about broadening the scope, I suppose it could be a generic OSR zine also. But I agree, it would be hard to get people to contribute to two sources and Tenkar has the advantage here with his large readership and connections to FGG. So...I'm not sure what to suggest. I would contribute to issue #2, if it is to happen.

I think what I may do is cut the page count in half to about 25 pages. That will require less submissions for each issue. I think I will still have to write more to fill up each issue. I also think it may just end up being a White Box zine.

I'll try that going forward and see what happens. I have 2 submissions so far, and they were sent in shortly after issue 1 was released so I haven't received anything new submissions for a while now.

So if you are reading this, then you should send something in. Yeah you!
