Re: Chapter 8: Forgotten Ossuaries
Holger peers into the pit. "No spikes. Likely meant to ensnare rather than to kill. We should move on before something comes to check on it."
Re: Chapter 8: Forgotten Ossuaries
Memphisto says, "Before we go, we must check Freda's wounds. Perhaps binding them may help at least a little bit."
He will attempt to bind her wounds.
He will attempt to bind her wounds.
Re: Chapter 8: Forgotten Ossuaries
While Memphisto is binding Freda’s wounds Dahl will cautiously and quietly make his way around the pit to peer around the corner and make sure nothing is coming down it toward the party. Dahl will stand guard there until Memphisto is done.
Re: Chapter 8: Forgotten Ossuaries
"Let's go the other way then." suggests Lisglen while pointing at the direction opposite from the pit.

Re: Chapter 8: Forgotten Ossuaries
Memphisto carefully tends to Freda's wounds. The meager bandage soothes only little, and the halfling laughs a bit on the wrong side of her mouth. In the meanwhile Dahl moves beyond the pit trap towards where the corridor turns north: much to his suprise he finds a longsword, a hand axe, and a horned helmet along the way. Peering around the corner his breath is caught in his throat by a horrific sight...
Only 3 m up ahead the hallway stops at a dead end. A group of four skeletons stand perfectly still like statues, huddling closely together so that their arms, ribs, and legs effectively create a cage of bones. A young man seems to be trapped in between them...

Dahl will carefully pick up the longsword and get back to the rest of the party to report what he has seen.
I'm unclear on the exact location of the sword. If it's not in the same corridor as the pit, just before the turn, then Dahl will be tempted to pickup the sword, but let it lie there for now rather than risk bringing unwanted attention.

Balthus raises up his head after many hours caged within the skeletons only to see what he thinks is someone dashing around the corner. He notices his sword is gone.
Re: Chapter 8: Forgotten Ossuaries
"A man within a skeleton cage you say?" repeats Lisglen. "That's probably worthy of attention..." He goes to see by himself, taking care not to fall in the pit.

“We can’t leave that guy trapped there. Let’s go free him.”
Re: Chapter 8: Forgotten Ossuaries
The sword was lying pretty much at the corner, so I'm going to assume Dahl picked it up. Also, Balthus - still unknown to the party - saw Dahl slip away after he had picked up the sword.
