Let’s head to the rendezvous point, says Fungo in Francophone-common. I wonder what happened to that mob that chased us to the pyramid.
That mob wandered off, weary from waiting for the GM to post.

Erwin's eyes go wide at the site of the gems. "Quickly Fungo, grab the treasure and let's get out of this place!"

Otis helps gather the loot and he'll drag prisoners along, knocking them out if they get too fidgety. He nods in agreement with Erwin. "Yes, we've gotta get outta this place, if its the last thing we ever do.". He nods toward the direction they came from and says "We might want to do some scouting as we move, lest we stumble upon those guys again. I'm sure they're pretty angry about burning their stuff and stabbing their warriors and interrupting their human sacrifice party."

OOC: Otis is fine with heading to the rendezvous.

Dragging a couple of captive warriors along, the party moves through the marsh. Hobbits scamper into the tall grass and scout ahead.
A couple of hours of sneaking through the wetlands uncovers nothing more than an angry heron. It flies off, croaking and wheeling towards the east.
The party arrives once more at the drop off point with plenty of daylight remaining.

Does the party hunker down and wait concealed and quiet until nightfall and hopefully rescue by the king's navy?
Do you decide to investigate the surrounding area? Or do you try something else?

Actions?

Fungo whispers, let’s wait for the promised ship. We’ve done their spying.

We can eat heron if it takes too long.

I bet even a hobbit wouldn't eat heron!

Otis agrees. “Let’s wait here quietly.” He’ll constantly check the captives bindings and if they make any fuss he’ll bonk them and knock them out.

You wait in the cover of the tall grass. Besides a few aggravating flies, the day passes without incident. But the thought of being swarmed by a tribe of angry devil worshipping humans keeps everyone on edge.

Night falls....

...in the distance, the beat of a drum begins with a slow steady cadence.

QUESTION: Does the drumbeat sound like its coming from the village or the place we interrupted the ceremony?
