From out of the doorway, a skeletal hand emerges, followed by a foul abomination wrapped in rotting rags. Red eyes burn with hunger as they alight upon the approaching hobbit.
It rushes from the doorway to clutch at Fungo, an unholy shriek tears from its profane mouth.

Actions?

Fungo stumbles back. If it comes close, he will stab at it with his magical sword.

Otis - FIghter

If Otis is able to see the hand grasping at Fungo, he'll charge forward to take a swing at the thing with his sword.

OOC: YIKES.

Erwin rushes in to help. "Is that thing real?" he yells. He tries to dis-believe, if that doesn't work he bats it with his staff.

The hellish creature moves to grab Fungo and the hobbit slashes at it with his shortsword...he cuts deep across the creature's chest but it doesn't react to the well placed blow.
Onward it moves with red eyes a-glowin'.

Moonglimmer has a chance to act before the creature (due to her dex bonus).

Moonglimmer, what is your action? If you fire an arrow or two, you may hit Fungo. My rule on this is if you fire in melee and miss the intended target, you must roll to hit another target nearby.

Initiative PCs=2, Monster=2....simultaneous

Let's try it! Moonglimmer takes aim with her new bow and prays her uncanny talent with it strikes true!

OOC She gets like +3 to hit from DEX, elven bow, and vs. intelligent undead (if it is)

Moonglimmer quickly draws her rowan longbow and fires two arrows at the creature. The first hits it in the shoulder, but the second pierces the creatures eye (a 20!). The creature staggers back, falls to its knees but still reaches out to the hobbit! It makes a feeble attempt to grab the hobbit's foot, but misses!

Otis and Erwin rush forward to attack....Otis swings wild, missing the creature with his sword. Erwin strikes it forcefully on the head, but doesn't seem to have any affect.

The creature draws itself up to regain its feet.

Actions?

Moonglimmer's attacks...11...and 20! Both hit. Moonglimmer does a total of 11 points damage (+1 for bow, +1 for racial enemy).
Creature attacks Fungo...1...a critical miss...falls to its feet.
Otis misses...10...darkness -2 penalty
Erwin hits....15, -2 penalty...3 dmg...but shows no affect
Initiative round2...creature=2 PCs=5, PCs act first in round

Otis swings again, hoping he's got a bit better aim this time. "LEAVE MR FUNGO ALONE, YOU NASTY THING!"
