Otis - Fighter

Otis will take off his armor and prepare to head into the pool to try and flush the Troll out toward the fire. He tells the others to get something to throw in the other end of the pool when he makes his entry to throw off the troll if it's looking for him.

OOC: This could be bad for Otis, but he wants this thing to pay. He'll go in with just sword and hopefully be able to spot the thing.

Otis ducks into the underwater passage. Holding his breath, he makes his way into the other chamber.
When he comes out of the water, it is pitch black. In the distance he can hear some muttering and what sounds like sobbing...

"They tried to hurt us, now didn't they? Well we've got a surprise for them now, ain't we?"

Then a deep chuckling sound.

========================
Fungo, Erwin, Moonglimmer, and Susanna move into the stalagtite passage. (Assuming they have a torch?)

As they make their way gingerly through the stalagtites, they can hear a sobbing and then muttering from a cave opening ahead.
"Yes...we'll surprise them...and them eat everyone of them...we'll save the fat hobbitses for last, won't we?"

A loud smacking sound and then the clapping of leathery hands.

Actions?

Moonglimmer has torch and sword.

Also: is the sobbing from that noodly appendage passageway? Or the big area?

I edited the map to show the position of the PCs. The red X represents Fungo, Erwin, Moon, and Susanna.

Otis can hear murmurring from the cave ahead (although it is dark and he doesn't know that the cave is there yet).

The others (Moon and Company) can hear the same noises coming from the cave ahead of them (also not knowing the size of cave yet).

I hope that makes it clearer?

Susanna whispers “if we throw the torch into the cave will it distract him?”

She’s no strategist but isn’t sure she could sneak up on that thing in its own cave…

Fungo is delighted that he will be among those eaten last.

Let’s charge the beast, he whispers

Bengar will stay with Sammich in the room with the fire, torch at the ready (or spear if creating a torch from driftwood wasn't successful) in case the troll breaks through. With any luck the dwarf and halfling are short enough to avoid much of the smoke.
Sammich whispers, for no reason other than he thinks we're supposed to be 'sneaky,' "If this smoke gets too thick in our faces, we should move back so we don't choke." The suspense is killing the little man... "How long should we wait before rounding back with the others?" he says to Bengar.

Target priority: imminent danger (self or companion), then the target most injured.
When possible, Sammich will always try to retrieve previously fired arrows.

Bengar gazes through the fire at the dark waters of the pool beyond it. Let's give it another couple minutes, he says in response to Sammich's query. I hope we don't skewer the big, dumb human by mistake, he adds.

Brave fellow, though. I'll give him that, the dwarf admits, after a moment's reflection.

Edited!
