No, you believe it is the Capt of the Garrison. You'll need to go through this area to get into the inner keep. He is the doorman for Lord Fynn.
Gotcha!

So.... Moonglimmer will approach the crowd and try to either slip into a conversation (if it's more than juzt small talk) or just go right to the office if the way is clear.

A couple guards are standing at the office door as well a fellow in platemail. He also wears the livery (insignia and colors) of the other guardsmen but looks more important.

He speaks to the crowd, "I've told you men that we are doing everything we can. We've added additional boat patrols and also set more watches along the shoreline. If it is Dagonite raiders, we'll catch them."

An older fisherman takes his pipe from his mouth, "We'll...don't appear to be Dagonites. Them Dagonites would've taken or at least scuttle them fishing boats. We recovered Ol' Tam's boat. Claw marks on the stern, some blood, but no Tam...and I'll just bet no Dagonites."

Another fisherman, "Yes, that makes three fishermen in the last fortnight. If Lord Fynn can't protect us, we may as well stay on shore!"

And a rumble of cries in agreement.

The important looking soldier again, "I understand! We will get to the bottom of this! Now, go home!"

The men grumble a bit and wander off looking sullen.

Actions?

Otis - Fighter

Otis, always one to seize upon the painfully obvious, approaches some of the concerned citizens and says "Excuse me... what's going on here?"

One of the fishermen looks at Otis wearily, "We've lost three our our friends out on the sea in the last fortnight. The only trace has been Ol' Tam's fishing boat. It washed up to shore north of town about two miles."

"Them Dagonites may be at work here, or it may be something else. Either way, we're done until something puts a stop to the killing."

Moonglimmer looks around at her friends.

"Shall we enter and introduce ourselves now? Or find a shop so the sneaks can get some armor and weapons?"

Fungo says, The Dagonites?!? Does the Captain of the Guard have an idea as to where they are? Are they just attacking fishing boats or merchant ships as well?

Otis - Fighter

Otis nods at the men "Sorry about your friends." Not bothering to analyze the situation Otis blurts out to the others "If no one is helping these folks, maybe we can see what this is about. Uh, after we get all the stuff we need, that is."
Otis ponders the situation as he waits for the others to chime in.

OOC: Otis was hoping to find someone who could paint his shield, but that's not as important now. He does need to get some rations and a backpack if nothing else.

Otis is right, let's equip ourselves a little better now that we have some coin. We can visit this Tam's boat to search for clues once we take care of business in town. We also have that letter of introduction...

Erwin listens to the conversation in the meantime.

A fisherman replies to Fungo, "I don't think the captain knows much about what it is that's been killing our mates. So far, it's gotten three of me chums, but none o' them big boats has been molested. You're a wee feller! A you down from Kettleshire?"
