If Miles can see the creature, he will suggest throwing it some rations. [Miles has a week of standard rations]
"Maybe some food will get it to shut up?"
Alphonse starts to mutter quietly "Oh my... oh my... this isn't good...." Since he can't climb down, he'll peek around outside to see if anyone is on the ground or another area looking toward us.
Roikos rolls over laying on his back staring up at the sky as he mutters a description of what he just saw, "There's some sort of creature, large, hairy, seemingly in a cage. It seems angry or agitated. I'll make my way down the ladder." As he positions himself onto the ladder to descend, "Like I said, I don't scream, so if you hear me scream, Run!" as he nods at the coil of rope and grapple hook.
If at this point Miles offers the ration for "Harry" Roikos will accept it and try to handle that task (feeding Harry) first - maybe even befriend it.
Spells per day:
- Light once per day
- Cure Light Wounds once per day
- Amulet, Protection from Chaos (as spell) for 1 turn once per day.

Alphonse sees no one on the grounds below. He does get a good but brief look at the ruined towers, though. The West Tower is full of detritus, but the East tower has a "roof" made of the timbers of the old tower reinforced with newish lumber.
Alphonse also gets a beautiful view of the harbor and southwestem coastline of cliffs and rocks.
Roikos climbs down the ladder, as the monster continues grunting in its cage. He sees it start to beat its chest and shake the cage bars, but they remain secure. Miles drops down some rations to Roikos.
The cage is nearly thirty feet across the room, over a beautiful woven rug. Will Roikos toss the rations from here? Or will he approach?
Will the rest of the group go down into the room, or take other actions?

Roikos is nervous about crossing nice rugs, so if there's a way to approach the cage going around the rug then he will. Handing the beast food might be more sincere. Roikos will take a bite first and chew/swallow so the creature knows it's safe.
Miles will follow Roikos down the ladder. He will stay near the ladder and try not to get the monster's attention. Hopefully, Roikos can soothe the beast. He will get his bow out, nock an arrow, and cover the stairway coming up.
Roikos carefully avoids the rug by skirting it by the southern windows. He passes a barrel of apples by the bannister of the stairway going down, and passes a large table under the windows, empty but for a large key.
He gets about ten feet from the still grunting creature. He takes a bite from the rations and then steps forward to hand them to the creature....
The creatures reaches out and grabs Roikos, pulling him toward the cage! Roikos takes 2 points of damage! The creature snatches the rations and gobbles them down with its free hand.
The monster grabs Roikos and pulls him against the cage bars, its breath heavy on the cleric's face. Attack d20=19. Roikos takes 1 more point of damage.
Roikos is now at 4/7 hit points and pressed against the bars of the cage.
Only Miles and Roikos are in the room.

Edited to add individual initiative:
Monster & Alphonse, then Miles, then Roikos & Jahan.
You can declare actions, but their effect will go in this order.
