Re: B1.1 - Beginnings
Tor nods encouragement as he sees Trebbelos‘ rapt engagement with his science lesson. He finishes his adult beverage and heads to the stables to hit the hay.
The next morning he will join the others.

Brother Bert - Thirsty Priest & Smiling Guy
Bert smiles jovially at the mention of more ale, and he pats the young man on the shoulder reassuringly "Thank you, sir! Good works requires hydration, and the all father certainly approves of such hydrating and tasty ale! So let's have a few more, to get hydrated, of course... and then we'll retire till tomorrow, and be on our way!"
Bert will have a couple more ales and politely ask the server if he might have some bread to wrap and take with him. Also, Bert doesn't have any light sources, but he's happy to carry some torches or oil to assist, or maybe some rope if needed. Bert has 8gp remaining, and he's happy to donate any or all of it toward supplies as needed.
Once eating and shopping is done, Bert will accompany Tor to turn in for the night.

Fauk is eager to drink as much free ale as he can acquire. Then, he will sleep on the floor near the fire or go out to the cold stables.

Day 9. Northern Gate, Tenney Hollow, 9 a.m.
You assemble by the north gate as a bell from somewhere in the village rings nine times. A light rain fell during the night, and the morning remains overcast. Trebbelos greets you with a smile, and you make your way through the gate.
A well traveled road, but not the old Atruscan road you journeyed here on, leads north out of the village, through quiet farmlands, over a river, and then gently rises into wooded hill country. You pass a few farmers in their fields, but no one on the road itself. After breaking for lunch around noon, Trebbelos guides you up a path leading into a dense forest.
Occasional standing stones mark the trail. The forest is alive with the sounds of woodland creatures, running waters, and a moderate wind. As you rise in elevation, however, the forest begins to thin out.
Around 3 p.m., you reach the crest of the hill you've been climbing. A great rock outcropping, of heavy blackish slate, crowns the summit. Winds buffet the hill continuously, blowing and whistling through the trees, vines and other vegetation which blanket the prominence on all sides. A cave-like opening, somewhat obscured by vegetation, is noticeable at the end of a treacherous pathway which leads up the craggy outcropping of black rock.
Here we are, the boy magician announces. Actions?

Tor furrows his brow and looks first at the young mage and then to the dark opening. He leads the way within.

Fauk, the better looking of the two barbarians, hefts his two handed sword over his shoulder and grins. He follows Tor along the rugged trail and muses about the treasure that lay within.

Brother Bert - Priest
Bert shifts his belly and adjusts his belt, nodding at the shady entrance. "Well, here we go. Let's be careful, eh?" Bert slowly moves forward with the others, taking a visual note of the surroundings.
He's no tracker or ranger, but does there appear to be any signs of recent passage? Since we have others with the same goal in mind either following us or ahead of us, we should be cautious and not choreograph our movements.

You push aside the weeds and brush, and find a wide ledge, about 30 feet wide and 10 feet deep, littered with dried vegetation, small rocks and animal bones. Beyond it lies a dark tunnel into the dark rock, about 10 feet wide, and 60 feet long. Due to the long delay, we'll expedite this and assume you head down the corridor with some kind of light source. It ends at a heavy wooden door. Bert, since you're looking for signs of others having been here before you, you notice that bits of wood have been chipped away from the edge, indicating that it has previously been forced open.
