Bert - Priest
Bert takes in all the banners, and looks for other exits from the room - and if any, are the doors closed?

Re: B1.1 - Beginnings
Bert sees no other exits.
Re: B1.1 - Beginnings
Fauk looks behind the banners for concealed doors and also behind the thrones for the same.
Re: B1.1 - Beginnings
Slip examines the thrones. The two chairs are sculpted from gigantic blocks of white marble and due to their bulk and weight, are for all intents and purposes permanent fixtures. There are cushions on the seats of the chairs, dusty but still plush. She pushes the cushion aside and sees a seam in the bottom of the seat: a panel of sorts. Given how the chair is constructed, she thinks it could be quite large inside.
She does the same with the other throne and finds a similar panel. Both panels are stone. They have, integrated in them, recessed circles which she believes could be handles that can be turned.
Fauk and Bert search for hidden and concealed doors. Fauk moves banners aside with his great sword, scanning the walls. (d6, 4) He finds nothing. Bert follows (d6, 1) and his eyes are keener. He discovers the distinct outline of a door in the joined blocks of the stone wall in the northeast corner of the room.
Actions?

The red line designates where Bert found the door.

Bert the friendly Priest
Bert can barely contain his surprise: “Everyone! I’ve found something in this corner!”

Scout, Tinkerer, and Cartographer

First, Slip makes sure there's no traps (search for traps) on either throne. Then (if no traps) she further examines the "twisty-holes" and 'panels' in the seats; she'll twist|tug|pull|push|etc. on them to see if the panel pops open, or what might happen. Without looking away from her work she responds to Bert, "Be there in a sec! These marble thrones have some sort of secret compartments in the seats... or something."greyarea wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 1:08 pmSlip examines the thrones. Fauk will stand guard while Slip tinkers with the thrones. "Perhaps, we let Slip do her work before opening the door, aye padre?"

Re: B1.1 - Beginnings
Tor has no comeback for Fauk's farm animal comeback. Perhaps the cat--never mind.
The warrior nods in admiration of the Slip's and Bert's finds, and wanders over to Bert to check out the secret door with him.

Re: B1.1 - Beginnings
Slip checks the two thrones for traps (73, FAIL, 10 SUCCESS).
She finds a thin wire on the left chair but she can't figure out how the trap might work. She leaves it be for now.
She finds a thin wire on the right chair, which seems to react to the recessed twisty hole on that throne. She gives it a slight turn left and the wire tightens. She holds her breath and gives it a slight twist right and it slackens. There is a slight click and the stone lifts up on hinges like a lid. She notes that the wire connects to a stopper on a glass beaker, which would have been pulled out if the wire had gotten more taut.
Within are velveteen wizard's robes (purplish in hue, although turning red or blue as the light hits it) festooned with yellow-white symbols that glow even in the dark of the recessed space, a fine wizard's hat, and a wand of some sort.
Bert, Fauk, and Tor examine the secret door. It seems that it opens with a push to either side, turning around a central spindle. It is low, so that the boy magician can probably walk through with little effort but the rest of you will have to duck.
