That's right! My Thief Lady - assuming I get, at the very least, a decent roll to throw into DEX.tumblingdice wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 4:52 pmMythictom is playing a wizard, and Brandon said he wanted to play a dwarf. Paul said either a fighter or an elf. So we need a cleric and a thief.
The recruitment thread is still open, too.

Yup. My rolls there recently have been abysmal.connivingsumo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 6:37 pmDaaaaaaaaang Tom!? What that the WotC die roller? You prefer that one, if memory serves. Nice to see I'm not the only one.
(Which means, over in my game, the PC rolls have been abysmal too! Except that natural 20 a few days ago!!!)

Yes, except the XP requirements, spell progressions and equipment prices are a little different. If you have only LL, you can use that to create your character, and then I can tell you what tweaks are needed.connivingsumo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 6:49 pmIsn't this essentially the same as Labyrinth Lord?tumblingdice wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 2:27 pmWe'll be using the Moldvay Basic Rules. You cannot add your 5-10% prime requisite bonus to the 100 XP I'm giving out for drawing a picture of your own character. Nice try, Tom!

Two below average scores, two average scores, and two above average scores. Not bad.
Re: Out-of-character (OOC) chat
2 equipment questions:
The 10' pole has no encumbrance entry. I assumed it would be the same as a magic staff. Is that okay?
Also, I rolled a 12 for starting gold of 120gp. You mentioned consulting Holmes for guidance.... Will you be using the Holmes rule suggesting MUs can create scrolls at any level? And if yes, can I start with one by spending 100gp? (Basically having created it before play begins.)

I mix up all the older versions, so I appreciate the clarification; that said, I'll probably end up using the two depending on which computer I'm using in the moment.tumblingdice wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 7:09 pmYes, except the XP requirements, spell progressions and equipment prices are a little different.
