You follow Brother Bert as, torch in hand, he leads your marauding band of 2 hulking fighters, one pudgy cleric and a thief who's afraid the rest of the group is going to blow it for her, down the road into the village. The smells of cook fires and fermenting beverages almost drown out the lingering scent of horse manure so common in these times and places, but not quite.

As you approach the gatehouse, you hear a couple voices chatting about nothing in particular. They go quiet as you near their open doorway. A short, pudgy, balding man wielding a halberd ambles out into the road. Whoa! Ho there! Who might you be, and what is your business here in Tenney Hollow?

Actions?

Brother Bert - Cleric, Chubby Guy Fond of the Sauce

Bert smiles and waves, pointing toward his holy symbol and cheerfully exclaiming "HELLO THERE! Blessings on you, friends! Just some road weary travelers looking for some food and spirits! I'm Brother Bert, how are you gentlemen doing out here?"

OOC: Bert is in his element, chatting up the masses.

Slip lowers her hood and steps into the light so as not to hide or come across shady. She identifies her self and her guild membership with The Compass. "We're just passing through and stopping for lodging, drink, and possibly some general goods."

Slip's CHA freakin blows, so she probably shouldn't be the face of the party.

Scout, Tinkerer, and Cartographer
+ Arrows = 20
+ HP: 5
+ AC: 5
Target priority: imminent danger (self or companion), then the target most injured.
When possible, Slip will always try to retrieve previously fired arrows.

Fauk rests his battleaxe on the ground and wipes his brow, "We seek lodgings and ale...or at least ale. Do you men know where this may lie?"

The short, pudgy, balding man wielding a halberd surveys the lot of you, regarding each of you in turn. He smirks at Slip's signal but otherwise doesn't react. It's been a boring evening so far, just the way we like it. If you're looking for nourishment of the liquid variety, may I suggest The Drunken Apple. It's right in the village square. You can't miss it. For a few silver, they'll even let you pass out for the night in the common room.

The man signals to his companion, a much larger specimen than himself, who opens the village gate. In you go, then. But don't be starting trouble, or Harold here will escort you to the jailhouse.

If there are no questions, you're free to go in. The village square, and The Drunken Apple, will prove easy to find.

Questions? Actions?

"The Drunken Apple... I wonder if they have hard cider then." she asks to herself as she walks past the guards and toward the village square.

They make cider that isn’t hard?, asks Tor. It is impossible to tell if he’s joking or just uneducated. He heads to the Apple store.

Brother Bert - Cleric

Bert cheerfully waves to the men as he walks through "Thanks, gentlemen! Have a nice day! Blessings to you!" He chuckles and bellows (probably a bit too loudly) as he slaps his belly "That walk has made me hungry, and thirsty! Let's go find this Drunken Apple, it sounds like a fine establishment!"

He plods along and then says quietly to Tor, "Let's keep an eye out, eh? And we can enjoy ourselves, but let's not get anything started. At least till we've found what we're looking for, eh?"

Bert cheerfully hums an old drinking hall tune as he marches along, licking his lips at the thought of some libation.
