Slip 'slips' out of the way and let's Tor to the door. She attempts to hide in shadows in case the 'rustling' turns into an adversary!

Slip prepared to attack whatever was 'rustling' behind the door.

Rats! Round 2

Initative Rats 5 Party 1 Rats have initiative!

Rat 1 (att 6, miss) can't get a tooth on Bert.
Rat 2 (att 9, miss) chomps on the tip of Bert's cassock, missing the cleric.
Rat 3 (att 17, hit, dmg 1, disease? 74% no) bites Fauk's big toe. Youch!

Tor (att, 16, hit, dmg 10) hews his foe in half!
Bert (att, 5, miss) swings and misses.
Fauk (att, 20, CRIT, MAX DAMAGE) boots the giant rat across the room and into the fire like a football.
Slip slips inside and (12, hit!, dmg 3) kills the last rat.

The smell of rat's nest and cooking rat fill the air. The end of the room disappears into a stair leading down. Cool air wafts from below, mixing with the smoke from the burning kindling.

A sword sticks out from the burning rat's nest. It appears unharmed...

Fauk hobbles over to the burned remains of the nest. If the sword is cool enough to touch, he will examine it.

I’m not sure you could anyway, says Trebbelos. It’s magical writing. It says—rough translation here—“lantern” or “torch”.

Fauk, or someone, I don’t care: I think you should try the blade. Say Dur-a-cell while you hold the sword.
