Tenebrous the magic-user

Tenebrous gladly takes the flask and drinks, perhaps a bit too deeply.

"Grarsh, would your deity keep you and your travelling friends supplied with water if the need would arise?"

The magic-user will pull forth a lantern and light it.

OOC--Does Tenebrous recall any knowledge or lore about the statues on the top of the pyramid?

The party is occupying the 't' square just inside the Secret Door and the one just after it to the East, the middle square.

Image

As thirsty throats gather the Secret Door swings shut and is self closing, it seems. It closed rather switfly, but nothing out of the ordinary (meaning it wasn't blown shut or "slammed" shut by some force), although a bit creepy!

Grarsh & Tenebrous simultaneously - instinctively - rush and reach for the door! The Cleric a bit quicker reaches the handle first and is able to open it quite easily from the inside.

Jim drinks deeply from one of the flasks after handing other flasks to his companions.
The water tastes good, almost soul quenching. You, and your companions, perhaps wondered how close you were to death by dehydration.

He grumbles and mumbles, walking about 5 feet ahead down the hall where he pauses to listen...
The passage is eerily silent.

Using his dwarven sense for stonework, he'll spend a few moments checking for any secret doors or abnormalities about the room.
Given the apparent age of the ziggurat, the stonework of the passage, walls, and ceiling seem incredibly sturdy! ...for human architecture, anyway.

Badobus notices...
Good die Roll. Moving just 5'-10' into the passage (from the Secret Door), aside from the two holes - one in each wall, presumably where the arrows came from - you don't notice anything unusual about the passage, but your Darkvision detects several pairs of footprints in the thick dust that lead down the passage and around the corner (Left) to the North.

Tenebrous suspects...
Didn't roll that great. Despite the not so great roll, your large Wizardy brain recalls the deities of the time. Vaguely, you recognize the three statues atop the ziggurat as possibly being the three gods of the lost city - the lost Cynidiceans - from Left to Right, you believe them to be: Gorm, Usamigaras, and Madarua.

His thirst quenched, Kung Fu Jim nods to the others and then sets off down the corridor. He keeps his wits about him, searching for traps as he goes.

Badobus - Grumpy Dwarf

Badobus points toward the passage and says "There's some footprints leadin' off this way. We better be careful."

OOC: I guess we only have one way we can go. Badobus will fall into the marching order anywhere he's needed.

Teacher say, “Journey to a thousand cuts begin with a single footprint”, nods Jim sagely.

Tenebrous will keep the lantern ready and look for any markings on the walls, floors, ceiling.

He will cock and load the crossbow and carry on his shoulder.

Edited: Grarsh, who apparently got very distracted, takes whatever water he can get, including the vials of holy water.

The half-orc turns to Tenebrous. Of course He can! The great Usamigaras can do anything He wants! He, well, just hasn't taught me how to yet. But he will. Really. He will.

Grarsh clears his throat, then gets in line right behind Jim.

The party continues down the hall, door *shut behind them.

The Monk leads the way through and over the dusty footprints that went before you, followed by Badobus, Tenebrous, and then Grarsh.

As soon as Jim rounds the corner he stops as he and the rest of the party notice another closed door at the end of the 20' hallway.

Actions?

Remember, it closes on its own, but is easily opened from the inside where the party is.

Jim checks out the door - listening at it, checking to see if it is locked, and checking for traps.

Badobus -dwarf fighter

Badobus waits anxiously as Jim listens at the door. He snorts “Dammit, Jim! What do you hear?”
He waits with sword ready…

OOC: c’mon, I couldn’t resist.
