Bel'xor proposes to the others to head down the eastern corridor to inspect the door around the corner, on the way looking to make sure nothing unusual about the ceiling or walls.

You gather your things and form up, heading east and then south 10' to a door. All appears normal with the ceiling and walls, also Phelim checks out the door and listens. It is unlocked, looks to be innocuous, and he hears nothing. Do you wish to open it or go somewhere else?

Phelim stands aside as Bel'xor opens the door with a bit of difficulty. He can see a room lit by torches throwing a greenish light. It smells of decay, and you all feel slightly uneasy.

To his right and left large, armored skeletons stand against either wall, maces in hand. They move towards the door and will be on you in seconds!

You only have time for a quick glance into the room as the two skeletons approach - straight ahead is an iron-bound, wooden chest which is open. It is overflowing with gold coins. To one side the chest is a pile of bones, to the other there are a few wall shackles, two skeletons still bound by the wrists. At the far end of the room is what appears to be an altar.

Actions?

Mechanics:

Door roll d6-1=3, opens but with some effort and noise.

Are Phelim and Bel'xor surprised by the skeletons? d6=5 no, so we will go with DEX order - skeletons have 3d6=8 DEX, so Phelim and Bel'xor get an action before they are attacked.

Fumbling for his holy symbol, to bring the power of the gods to bear, Holy Schmidt will attempt to turn them away from the party. In due time of course, those dang DEX initiative rules :)
